Hauntingly beautiful. And so much in this story to give us hope and strength in dark days. Thank you 🙏
  • I have a story my great grandfather fastwalker with his fast moccasins ran a race against a American soldier on horse back from Fort Pierre SD to old Fort Thompson sixty two. Point eight miles away on the crow creek sioux Indian reservation during the early 1860s. The gun fire started the race for the entire day and evening time. The one who crossed the finish line was fastwalker beating the American soldier on horse back. Later the us military wanted him to send messages to the Dakota and Lakota sioux encampments. Many years later general Persian came to visit fastwalker at his home at old Fort Thompson SD because must heard of great grandfather fast speed will winning the famous race that happened many years ago. My people still remember fastwalker's great deeds with his fast moccasins.
