Paying $15 for a modern-version audiobook of meditations and then finding this is a great way to practice stoicism.

This is how I summarize it for me: Seems like he starts from the framework that there may exist a higher power, and it’s best to live as such. If there is a higher power, you have to have faith there is a larger purpose. If there is a larger purpose, we all have distinct roles to play. Find that natural role and constantly consider how your role and decisions impact everyone and everything. Your rationality and natural intuition are your tools from the gods to play your role. If you make wise decisions, you did your part and you did good. And in the end, don’t fear death because it’s a natural progression of a never ending cycle

Stoicism teaches that we should concentrate our efforts on things within our control, such as our thoughts, actions, and attitudes. External events and other people's actions are often beyond our control, so it's essential to accept them with equanimity.
