The Chancellor has told Sky News that the UK economy has "turned a corner" after inflation dropped to 2.3% in April.

Jeremy Hunt said he was careful not to make "inflationary decisions" and was committed to bringing down taxes for people and to help build a stronger economy.

He said the Conservatives were "willing to do the hard work to bring down taxes".

  • Meaningless gibberish. Car insurance energy bills water bills food and petrol increases have all far outstripped wage rises. All against a backdrop of record breaking corporate profits

    JUST BEFORE AN ELECTION😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
  • Claiming something they had no hand in as usual. If inflation goes up it is the war in Ukraine, Coronavirus or the Bank of England board should be sacked, but if inflation falls its always smart moves by the government. Why don't they tell the public to stop moaning and tell us due to the governments streamlining the NHS is now running better and cheaper, and Britain has seen a better growth in food banks than other European countries which of course is a Brexit benefit.

She's asking him if the Tories haven't contributed to inflation by increasing the minimum wage and paying public sector workers more? If the Tories hadn't done that she'd be criticizing him for leaving lower paid workers in poverty, and talking about what a sh*tshow the resulting public sector strikes had caused. This presenter is incredibly irritating.
