The Last of Us 1x1 (2023) - SERIES REACTION

I thought this show KNOCKED IT OUT OF THE PARK with this first episode! Absolutely incredible! I can't wait to watch the next episode. Pedro Pascal's performance was top notch, never seen him in a role like this before and he plays it so incredibly well. I also really love the concept of fungi/mushies kinda taking over the world, you guys know how much I love mushies😁I hope you enjoy this reaction! Love how they incorporated Joel’s rage at the end. In the game there were many scenes where we saw Joel freak the fuck out and turn into a monster. Some of his fight scenes could’ve been in God of War. 😎

Great reaction! Also, they mention in the episode: the Fireflies aren't "anarchists" - they specifically want to restore full democracy to the country, because currently it's operating under strict military rule, with military courts and no civilian voting.

At the very end, the song on the radio is by Depeche Mode from the '80s. So that meant danger; don't go out. The graffiti Joel saw, "when you're lost in the darkness; look for the light.." the end of that message was on a wall being repainted, "Believe in the Fireflies!" I am really glad you are reacting to this. The infected as you saw with the guy grown into the wall; get worse physically.

Cool. I was just thinking, you can tell if a song came out in the 60s, 70s or 80s because they have a very distinctive sound. But post 2000 songs are really hard to tell unless you know them already.

I'm about a few hours in. But this adaptation looks very loyal to the game so far. The acting performances, and the tension/horror, are very well done as well. As noted, this is VERY faithful to the video game. There are some changes, but the show added more emotional punch with Sara's death and the fact that it's going to be less focused on typical gameplay elements and more on story elements, I'm guessing they'll take their time with some of the more emotional scenes they've teased to come. Can't wait to see how it turns out. Very good so far!
