The method mentioned last is the least secure, primarily because the servers for these 'computers' are hosted by an unknown entity. Without knowing the host, there's a crucial concern that they could potentially access your login details and identify your location. Using bridges (integrated in the tor browser settings), you can hide to your ISP that you're using tor. This would probably remove the need to trust a third party VPN.
