Must be a generational thing, but NO WAY has the Neo Geo been forgotten by time in my mind. Exactly because of it's crazy game prices I do now know what Coleco stands for 😮
-
Counting the Nomad is a stretch as it was more of another model of the mega drive. The Mega Jet and X eye are more hidden to the public eye if you ask me. Also the videogame crash happened in 1983 not 1985. Colleco didn't fall instandly but that is still when they lost most of the momentum they had buiild up to that point.

& here are 10 more forgotten consoles: Amiga CD32 Apple Pippin FM Towns Marty - Was only sold in Japan. LaserActive - The most expensive console ever. Base model cost $1000 ($2175 in 2024) in 1993. NEC PC-FX - Was only sold in Japan. Neo Geo Pocket/Neo Geo Pocket Color Phillips CD-i PocketStation - Was only sold in Japan. Pokémon Mini Zeebo - Was only sold in South America.

The 3DO failed mainly due to the price. It only had one launch title which is pathetic. It also lacked games that people wanted and had very few platformers and RPGs which were pretty important back then. Lucienne's Quest is one of the few exclusive (sort of) RPGs on the 3DO. Internet support on the Game Com doesn't work anymore. 6:32 That's a horrible design if simply changing out games is a hassle. I don't think I ever heard of the Nuon.
-
This feel like forgotten should be more console that fell flat on their face because these are still talked about
-
I remember the video rental shop Choices in my town having a display NGage you could play. It seemed pretty cool but I never knew anyone who owned one. I had a Gameboy advance.
-
I love when the odd list comes around where I really get to learn about something I had not heard of before! A couple of these consoles were new to me.
-
Hey- I STILL have my Colecovision with the Sports Controller for baseball and (USA) football . Not really weird and hardly forgotten.
-
NGL I was expecting to see the Apple Pippin
-
The Nomad was good
-
The Saturn (just) outsold the Dreamcast worldwide so it was an odd comparison to kick the video off with, especially considering both are widely and fondly remembered these days for their amazing catalogues of unique games.
-
The Nomad was its own system as much as the Super game boy attachment was. It was a portable megadrive/genesis and that was it. It was never meant to be its own platform so I don’t understand why you would present it in such a way.
-
Dude, the Nomad was great even if it ate batteries like candy. Being a kid on road trips a lot, having the ability to play any of my Genesis games was amazing!
-
A console with no games made for it? My dude, I have a PS5 sitting on my shelf right now.
-
The Apple pinpen is less known than a Neo Geo
-
I remember you guys covered the all video game consoles ranked from worst to best and I was hoping you'd at least mention that in the intro. I loved those videos as it exposed me to so many I've never heard of. I'm just glad that you're still paying homage to some of the forgotten obscure consoles out there and for that you earned my respect.

I don't think that the Neo Geo or ColecoVision belong on this list. The Neo Geo was niche but much loved. The ColecoVision was very successful here in North America. It is no more forgotten than the Intellivision.
-
This is a very weird take on the Ouya. The thing was a scam, not "too far ahead of it's time", it was an Android phone plugged into your TV at a time before Android phones had any processing power so couldn't run anything you'd want to play on your telly.
-
I used to LOVE my Sega Nomad. Sadly, the screen cracked and I was never able to get a new one.
-
The Colecovision was not a weird, forgotten system; and a serious competitor to what was out at the time. The Vectrex, Odyssey 2, or Bally Astrocade would have been a much better choice from that generation.
