I've looked into security film for glass and if you read the specs, it often says that the glass must be a particular thickness in order for the product to work properly. Some say 5mm, which is about 3/16". Most US windows have glass that is 1/16" to 1/8". Many commercial windows are 1/4" to 1/2" thick. 3M doesn't specify glass thickness in their sales brochure. However, it's definitely a HUGE consideration in performance. It's interesting that they omit the glass thickness references in the sales brochure.

That film is ridiculously expensive. Is it needed both sides?
