This week we're looking at the flip side of the common recommendation to avoid hunting the same spot over and over. Yes, this is a good idea most of the time. But sometimes over-hunting the same spot can be the exact right approach.

One thing I've tried and had multiple success at with several ladder stands I have is in September I will pick two or three stands and hang a smelly tee-shirt spread out with hangers and sticks in the place where my body would be if in the stand. I mount it solidly so the winds won't tear it up. This is done also at my favorite bow hunting hogs site. You will find animals get used to this in literally 3-4 days, especially if you start feeders throwing corn. Try it and you will see what I mean. You have " trained" them everything ok IMO

Like Jeff Sturgis says. Hunt the weather, don't over pressure deer to avoid the October Lull. Don't ruin your good rut stand until the conditions are right.
