  • It's so cool knowing that the film was done entirely using free software anyone can download

This short movie deserves a place in Netflix's Love, Death, Robots next season.

I don't know about anyone else, but the two hardest parts of animation for me are convincing sense of scale, and a convincing sense of weight. This short absolutely nailed both. The world feels large... the spaces, even tiny rooms, feel like spaces. And when things hit, they look like they hit and conveyed force. Great story extremely well executed and beautifully rendered.
  • As a professional from same industry often I am led away into details of technicalities, but while watching Charge I was absolutely hooked and really enjoyed it. It's not easy to put together a good action sequence edit; this was really well done. Love the Sound, Designs, Animations. For some reason this brought many memories from early 2000 good animation films. Good blend of stylization and realism in animation and visuals. This could easily pass for Love Death Robot episode; I mean it as compliment. Congratulations to Blender Studio Team and Everyone who worked on this. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

One day Blender really needs to make a full animated movie (It would be so good!)
  • @Camad
I think the greatest achievement of this film, is that it is all rendered in Eevee, the real time renderer. Amazing work!
  • 3:08 Honestly, the end credits sequence and this short film as a whole are next-level stuff. Hoping that the soundtrack to this masterpiece gets released soon...
  • @dustloaf
Maybe it's too fast paced, but the storytaling in every minor detail is astonishing Love that mechanical "What?" at 0:56
  • @jimmac
Simple story, well executed. Not a dull moment, lovely!
  • @COLOREDLESS.
Has to be the most heart warming thing ever. This animation shows that people will do anything to keep there loved ones alive no matter what is thrown at them, this animation captures that message perfect and made me shed a tear when I found out he was just trying to save his wife
  • @kyounokuma
That Blender timeline for the edit that appears in the credits was pretty impressive. Well done guys. Thank you for all your hard work both artists and devs.
  • @JaredOwen
That was Epic! I really enjoyed the "behind the scenes" at the very end.
  • I just can't believe this was all made in blender... and can't imagine how much time was put into this 4 minutes movie. Can I tell you how much I was excited when the security bot transformed at 1:42!? That design is fricking cool! So beautiful, I love it!!
  • @dailycgi
This was awesome! I love the transformation at 1:43! Was totally unexpected and was definitely a stand out moment. Metroid Dread vibes for sure with that style of robot design and sense of indestructibility.
  • @gerichkyon
That ending... All to keep his wife still alive... Perfect. β™₯

Although the movie has no words in it, the old man spoke to us with his heart.
