I ended up taking advantage of the sale you mentioned that TG&TB had on the LA! I went with Level 1 with TG&TB LA for my 4th grader! I went with K for my 2nd grader. I love the freedom and flexibility of homeschooling! The fact we get to meet our children right where they are at and letting them set the pace for how fast or how slow we need to go is a blessing! I just want them to love learning, period! Honestly, I could care less about "grade levels". We just go with the flow. Progress is progress no matter what! Great choices! Thanks for sharing!

Yes I have a 3rd grader... loved watching! I like that you are taking things slow and extra practice is always good! Loved the picks+

Covering all the bases and not having gaps is a good idea. I always like seeing what other homeschoolers choose for curriculum. I like old-fashioned readers and used them with my own kids.
  • One of the best advantages (there are so many) to homeschooling your kiddos is your ability to pick what works for your kids individually.
  • Mercy Watson books are awesome. They were recommended to us when our now 20 year old was a struggling reader between 2nd and 3rd grade. And my now 2nd grader has had them all read to her from age 3 on. She now as a 2nd grader reads them to me. We love Mercy Watson 💕
  • Explode the Code is such a great resource. I need to check out the readers for TGTB . Thanks for sharing!
  • I'm on the last ten lessons of TGATB L2 LA&M with my 2nd graders. It's been fun. We'll be using L3 next year and adding handwriting. Consider getting a Magnadoodle instead of a whiteboard. You'll never have to look for a pen or deal with the way the markers smell.

Hi! I also have 4 kids i homeschool! Thanks for the info, I have not used good and the beautiful before.

My third grader will also be using TGTB math and language arts next year!
  • We starred on Level 1 in language arts with our older kids due to reading issues and my older kids read awesome because of it!!! We don’t use the readers unless my kids are instead in!!! Nothing wrong wiv moving slowly with math!!!

Abeka's handbook for reading has really help my daughter learn to read. Its like $15 I think. I recommend it even if you are not using abeka's curriculum. We just do a few pages a day. Just thought I would share
