Hogwarts Storm Cloud Ceiling | Harry Potter Bedroom Makeover

The Harry Potter bedroom transformation continues, as we take a regular white ceiling and make it look like the cloud-filled ceiling of the Great Hall in Hogwarts Castle! We used LED lights underneath a layer of Poly-Fil for the clouded sky effect! Complete with lightning effects and floating candles controlled by a wand! Wow this looks really great, congratulations! If I may make a suggestion, you can get candle flickering LED bulbs that may fit in the chandelier, that would really finish off the ambience.

The really like the way the light from the chandelier adds contrast to the polyfil. I've dabbed watered down acrylic to darken polyfil to make it look better in the daylight, but it usually looks awful when backlit. I've used the same brand cheapo LED strips from Amazon and they're really reliable. The lights themselves don't get very warm, but when the kids forget and leave them on all day, that receiver can get pretty toasty.
