My Thoughts on Driving the ITB E30

Finally got some time to stretch the legs of my ITB e30 and I wanted to share my thoughts on the drivability and potential oddities of the setup. Still under 1,000 miles total, but looking like a lot more to come.

    Coat the inside of that plenum, there fiberglass with carbon overlay, the plenum needs to be double that size or at the minimum have a bigger entry added as they suck in on hard acceleration, get that diff sorted with a 3.64-1 ratio, Also if you get the linkage correct you can make it open the first 10% slower which helps to reduce lean bog off idle, we have fitted lots of rhd itbs so have lots of experience with them if you ever want to ask any questions

    just subbed i own a e30 bmw 318is with dbilas itb's and a maf conv from a 1.9 liter hyundai accent, 4 to 1 headers straight piped, a resonator/muffler it sounds like a sewing machine, that rushing air intake sound and the downshifts are sublime i can rev to 8000 shrick cams, so i've chipped the tach and overlayed it with one that redlines at 9 and got rid of the MPG gauges. innovative goods sells a board that changes the Service Interval (SI) lights to shift lights, get it and tell me you wont have more of a reason to drive everyday. I'll stop driving my e30 when they pass a law that says i can't. thank you for the tip on painting the tach needles red, i changed that orange/red backlight on our tachs to white Leds and changed the mph/kmh to just mph markings much cleaner look anyways keep being awesome. :glasses-purple-yellow-diamond:

    love the update with the ITB sounds. Should be nice when the bog is gone, I assume it's just from the lack of TPS/tip-in enrichment? Not sure what ECU you're running.
  • How does the power increase feel? Are you planning on dynoing it at all?
