As with the Post Office, the instinct of the Establishment is to protect its own. Absolutely right Nigel- 75% of people have made up their minds already who they're voting for, and most of the remainder won't bother to vote at all. Rishi has zero influence or credibility at this stage. It's like trying to improve your exam score after the paper has already been handed in.
