Today we discuss the very real possibility that our very own Minfilia, Antecedent of Scions of the Seventh Dawn and infamous for constantly telling us to return to the Waking Sands, might actually have been a primal this whole time.

I just found your channel and I'm really enjoying your content. I had never given considered this theory before. It's a little mind-blowing how much sense it makes. I hope it turns out to be canon.

the 3.2 art gave me the idea that hydaelyn forced minfilia to act as the word of the mother, how is she chained to the mother crystal

After 5.2 I thought Minfilia was a shard of Venat, but with all the connections you made and all the 5.3 elidibus stuff, this theory seems a lot more conclusive. Good thoughts!
  • To me, Minfilia isn't really a primal but a shard of Venat who served as Hydaelyn's heart. What happened to Ryne and the WOL were pretty much the same. Two shards merging to complete an Amaurotine soul. Venat's and Azem's. When you talk to Emet Selch in the Ocular (not sure but I think before you headed to Nabaath Araeng with Thancred, Ryne and Urianger) he actually tells you that they, the Ascians were naturally tempered by Zodiark like what all primals do. Thus their responsibility to carry out His will. So that pretty much confirms that all of those who revered Hydaelyn as their god are also tempered by Her. And isn't it weird in the quest "One Life for One World" that Urianger was yelling about offering a bounty of light just to seek an audience with the Oracle which I thought was no different than the beast tribes offering crystals just to summon their god. And Minfilia's last few words for you which could mean a different way. "Someday when I found a way to free this star from Her sorrow..." Maybe it's just me but I do got the feeling she was not referring to the star when she metioned Her but Hydaelyn. Like is she meaning to save the star from Hydaelyn's sorrow? She could mean it like that or she could mean it the other way. In conclusion, I believe Gaius and his repetitive long lines in the Praetorium were right all along.

No, of course I didn't finish this last-minute because I was spending a bunch of time before maintenance trying to get last minute raiding in. What makes you think that?

it sounds crazy, but when she calls herself emissary, i'm inclined to agree

Very cool video! I have one unanswered question about this tho-Azem is the Asxlcian title so would it be possible that Venat was Azem? That would likewise make the WoL Venat. When I was watching this portion of the story I glossed over the mentions of Venat a bit but it was said previously that Azem abandoned their seat and the Ascians didn’t have a chance to fill it before the destruction. If they had abandoned their position as Azem then it would be very possible that they had to revert back to their original name. That said, my main issue with this is that it was clearly stated that Word of the Mother Minfillia was given leave by Hydaelyn to to to the First and stop the onslaught of light. She as an entity was sacrificed along with 4 of the WoDs to stop it. Any residual energies of Minfillia was reborn into a child that was found and often used as a figurehead of whichever entity got ahold of her, thinking that that would ensure that they were in control of whatever change the Minfillia entity would bring. 5.4 SPOILERS . The current ShB Minfillia was being held captive for most of her young life in Eulmore and would have remained another unfulfilled ‘Minfillia’ had Thancred not rescued her and eventually realized that she was not ‘his’ Minfillia but her most recent ‘shard.’ After he accepted this and accepted her as his ward she changed and he named her Ryne. Ryne is basically Minfillia’s ‘final form’. After 5.4 I think its a strong possibility that Ryne/Minfillia could have been a stronger shard of their Ancient One, like the WoL is after joining with Ardbert. Its possible this is also what drew her Gaia since she is a Sundered. I think the stongest case for your argument remains the animation. Its a strong case but still too weak to quite be confirmed as official canon. I hope we get more on this in 5.5 since it’d be a huge waste to spend it all on Zzzzzenos and ignore all the splendor of the First.
  • The only problem here is the devs clarifying that they will not go fully into the summoning of Hydaelyn and Zodiark. Loved the theory though, very plausible.
