Drehmal Apotheosis Beta - Ending

Can't wait for the full release. This has been a journey and a half with the Drehmal Devs being the epic people they are and the content creators like you gifting us with amazing playthroughs. Nothing to lose.

Every time I see this ending, it brings tears to my eyes. Everyone involved with Drehmal is so, so lucky to be here for this beautiful of a creation

I think the ending fits the ideas of the map quite well, and I really like how it (Outer Wilds spoilers) practically mirrors Outer Wilds' ending's meaning, except from a different perspective; in OW, you enjoyed what there was to this life before ending it in a meaningful way, while in Drehmal you chose to chase knowledge above all else, but, because of that, were not able to live out your life fully, skipping forward and cutting it short of your own volition. At least your soul will get an opportunity to try again, in a new realm recycled from Drehmal's withered remains. Despite the fact the choices the main character makes in Drehmal are not ideal, I still do find the ending to be hopeful in nature. Yes, Drehmal is gone, and so are you, but despite all the suffering the realm has endured, there was plenty of meaning and happiness to be found in it, too, and, most importantly, there will be others after this one, and the natural cycle continues. It is not so bad, I think. Seeing it for the first time was quite jarring, but I grew to like it a lot.

I finish the map! Thank you for this series, it helped me so much whenever I got lost or confused. A lot did changed from the version you played, but your videos were so helpful! I love the ending with the exception that my character dies at the end. My interpretation is that (the return button) represents you return to your time and live out of the rest of your days peacefully. I understand the main ending is to close the book of Avshom's history by your death. Buuut I like my character just waking up after almost dying and returning home in Merijool, resting now that they got closure of what happened to their people. Also, I left my wolf at the stasis facility while venturing through the ending. The thought of that poor dog waiting for me to come back and the implication that I died kinda made me sad. So, yeah, I returned. I hate to leave the little fella alone till the end of time!

This is such a good map, I am already waiting for the full playtrough when the map will be finished !

BSL Shaders work beautfully in the final area where you fight Drehn, though some settings may need to be tweaked. Its like the only shaderpack fully compatible with the map's skyboxes
