When Andrew says, "I don't like this" about a situation, you better believe it's a bad situation.

"Today on 100 Ways to Die, we watch as Andrew continues to recover his roller while enlisting the help of a guy that has never driven a roller. Up a snowy mountain. Covered in ice. Later we will talk to that friend and ask if they are evaluating that friendship right about now." Great content sir. Entertaining and informative as always! Keep em coming. And dont die.

That skidder's winch has been well worth its weight in gold on that mountain.
  • I’m impressed that Andrew never seems to really lose his cool. I’d have been swearing up a storm. Nicely done guys.

Was expecting Andrew to introduce his next video with “this is my new Sikorsky heavy lift Skycrane”.
  • @wozzle68
that skidder is an incredible machine, it did an incredible job recovering the roller and pulling it up the hill. <3

Never in a million years did I ever think I was going to watch a 20 minute video of a roller being pulled up a steep, rough, rocky, and icy road. 🤣
  • Never a dull moment with you. When being pulled keep the tow rope, strap, chain, or cable keep the tention tight. Let the tow vehicle do the work. Maybe the ice was to thick but I think I would have used the 7 or picked a nicer day. Glad to see you had lots of help.

This was one hell of a cliffhanger… thank you Andrew for posting the results so quickly!!!

okay literally as a union operator myself but also knowing sometimes you gotta get shit done, i can say whoever was on the roller had no business driving it while you were towing it up the hill had no freaking clue what was going on. and andrew as much as i like what he does, with just buying old beatdown (for the most part) equipment and working on them, he should have known better and communicated better. everyone yelling stop and him waving go go go almost rolled it down the hill again. it worked but definitely one of the ugliest recoveries ive ever seen

Entertaining as always! Gotta love how things are always a bit borderline broken. Looking forward to seeing the castle you’ll build up there after all this road building!
  • @deepwinter77
Spectacular drone shots at the beginning, just beautiful winter mountain landscapes.
  • The guy driving the roller was a fool and made that so much harder than it should have been

For breaking rock you need a sheepsfoot compactor. Vibratory rollers are for finish work. Rollers will break the rock but not nearly as well as a sheepsfoot. A sheepsfoot might have climbed the hill on it own power.

Even our friend Sketchy left chat a couple times during that video. Glad you got the roller up there without loss of limb or life. Entertaining!
  • @Old-dude
I want to come up to the mountain and run some equipment. You have so many great machines. Thanks for the videos
  • Quite the Fitzcarraldo-operation. And a great delight to watch You boys play in the frozen mud. Thanks for filming and sharing!
  • I'm glad to see that I wasn't the only nervous one watching the video. Andrew, I'm relieved to hear that you are considering a newer one as I honestly think that the one you have is a death trap for the job you seem to have in mind for it - even in the best of weather conditions. At the very least, better tyres (wouldn't help on ice I know) on the damned thing are clearly an absolute necessity or a set of tyre chains or even both! Please stay safe. Excellent cinematography by the way!!
  • @ZoonCrypticon
Amazing teamwork ! And this skidder seems to be one of the most useful vehicles there. Andrew´s next purchase should be a transport helicopter like the Boeing-Vertol CH-47 "Chinook"!
  • Glad y'all got on the road again👀.....Thanks Andrew & Crew 👍 Shoe🇺🇸
