When I was younger I used to feel so bad for these people, but seriously who tf is encouraging them??? I would never let someone I love embarrass themselves like that even if some of them have good voices. You have to be exceptional!

If you ever notice, the best singers are usually modest and trying to continue to improve. The people who think they are good are usually misguided.
