  • John was and still is fiercely loyal to Freddie and that's one of the things I respect him so much for.
  • I have always felt that "Innuendo" was written as a farewell album, and this heartbreaking video really only confirmed that for me. The band was trying so hard to act like everything was fine, but you can hear the uncertainty in their voices. The moment where Roger admitted to wanting to "Take a break musically..." He was planning ahead, knowing that he and the band would soon need a break from their adoring fans to there for Freddie. Brian has said that "The Show Must Go On" was written to reflect how Freddie must have felt at this point in their lives, and I think it does a great job at that. "These Are the Days of Our Lives" is incredibly nostalgic, it's somber tones perfectly representing the "glad it happened, sad it's over" point of view. Over all, this album is a true masterpiece. Roger was right when he said it was one of the best things Queen had ever done; it is truly so bittersweet.

This is the most I've heard John speak. Ever.

Still heartbreaking to hear Roger’s words: “I think I just want to rest now” - how incredibly difficult it must have been for Queen to realize there was absolutely nothing they could do to prevent what was to come...

John did a great intro . . .wonderful words, perfect tone, warm and gracious....

Most of Freddie's songs that he's written were speaking about his life, his dreams, his personal issues.... he was a poet.. an extraordinary singer and songwriter.

Never was there a better or finer vocalist on the planet! He was so ill yet maintained phenomenal pitch perfected notes with strength, passion and vitality. 'These are the Days of Our Lives' and 'The Show Must Go On' are difficult to listen to without tearing up.

You can see John made a huge effort to step and do interviews etc for the Miracle and Innuendo albums to distract from the fact that Freddie did not want to talk to the media.

Freddie was so ill but yet he still gave it his all vocally. Music making and the continuous prosperity of the other band members meant everything to him. And the way that John,Brian, and Roger protected Freddie was just unbelievable. We would be lucky to have one such friend in life....Freddie had at least three.
  • At 15:05 when Roger says, “musically I’d really like to take a bit of a rest actually”... carving out time/an excuse to be out of sight from their adoring fans... paving the way for them to be with their dying friend in the near future while keeping the press vultures at bay. Heartbreaking and fiercely loyal. Most of us are not lucky enough to have such good friends, much less “co-workers!” Freddie inspired that in people because he gave it to them first.

"Just get on with it, otherwise I'll forget my name and..." YOU JUST HAVE TO LOVE HIM.

How did Mercury have the energy to do the Innuendo videos? Amazing and brave commitment.
  • Freddie's last recordings and He Sings His Ass off . Hard to believe he was so sick and could still pull off those amazing vocal parts . Listen to his voice in The show must go on . Unbelievably excellent.
  • Freddie’s voice was just starting to thin out that tiniest bit on this album due to his illness, but he was and forever will be the very very best of the best. I have been a serious Queen fan since the 70’s, and always will be. I must mention how very much I love that Roger and Brian are still playing...but at the same time, I admire John so much for his decision to retire and be with his family. While we all miss him dreadfully, he gave us all SO very much through the years and he has more than earned his privacy now. Thank you John. We miss you.

Freddie was definitely frail but that magnificent voice couldn't be more powerful.

You can see the shift in band dynamics, knowing this would be the last album they made together. They are enjoying working with each other and making the most of it, unlike the late 70's/early 80's when they were bickering a lot. Freddie clearly kept his sense of humour which made it less tragic than it might have been.
