A LACK OF SLEEP/FITNESS. The WHW Ultramarathon runners pass on a walk Kinlochleven-Bridge of Orchy.

Published 2024-07-14
I've waited 10 months for today. I calculated I would pass around 200 runners heading from Milngavie to Fort William, as I walked from Kinlochleven to Bridge of Orchy. I finished my stage in serious pain, but nothing compared with these runners. I was in awe.

Filmed June 2024 | Kinlochleven, UK.

  • I was one of the runners that day and I would’ve had my mind blown if I’d seen one of my favourite YouTubers on the route! Would’ve been wondering if I was going mad 😅
  • Okay, watching the video and I actually appear in 24:20 and I turn back and look at you randomly. Can’t believe I nearly met you 😂😂
  • @steve-marsh
Fantastic effort mate, the Sherpa and I very much enjoyed this! Such a shame our paths didn't cross on this day, I reckon we would have been mighty close at one point :)
  • @nannymackify
Wow. In my middle forties I began doing marathons;but the good Lord didn't give me the body of a runner; so I walked the 26.2 miles. Two London marathons and two in Dublin. 7 hours on my first one, but by 2002 had got it down to five + hours. Watching the pain on your face brought so many memories back. I'm.lying in bed watching this and my feet are throbbing in sympathy!
  • I done that same walk 25 yrs ago with my Two mates that were in the Parachute regiment, on the way up before we started they laughed at me giving me a slagging off because I brought midge spray . After 5 miles they asked if they could share it with them.. 😂
  • Pushing on after you wanted to quit puts you on that higher level. Congrats.
  • Brilliant video. I watched Steve Marsh's Ben Nevis video yesterday. Yours and his complement each other very nicely.
  • Wow you both are so amazing on your mammoth walks...well done Steve and Scott....felt for you Scott.. really enjoyed all the beautiful scenery...felt you deserved to travel on the Royal train..not the other one.good rest and food order of the day..well done.🏆🏅😊😊
  • That was a most impressive walk in beautiful scenery far better than hiking in the dark and fog and NO sherpa for you. Well done, we are all so impressed with your stamina . 🇨🇦
  • Thanks for going through that pain for us Scott. Well done, another fabulous Scotland vlog. Please keep the variety coming.
  • @billcook4768
I’ve done support crew for the race several times. So much fun to see it “backwards.”
  • @johnmull59
Well done Scott.....I think you started to flag after 25km because you didn't have enough coffee to keep you at your usual cruising altitude. 😊
  • Scott, I feel your pain. The way the camera was swaying towards the end was more telling, than anything you could say. Enjoy the rest, & hopefully your feet had a good soak afterwards.😊
  • @Pooky-Cat
Ooh Scott you do push your boundaries. Thanks for sharing and please take care.
  • I had never ran anything other than a 20miler before i did my WHW race. I was delighted to finish in 25hr 47minutes. Well done on your walk.
  • Well done Scott, both yourself and Steve (and Alicja) are putting hard the hard videos this week!
  • @nickyb1967
Great effort Scott, you can almost feel your pain through the video. Take a well earned break!
  • Well done Scott, did look painful - glad you got your train, though the 1st one looked better !! :)
  • That track across Rannoch Moor is a sole killer, was glad of a sit down with a pint at the end.
  • Another cracking video... mind you only thing I could see was a strange floating head until you put your jacket on lol
