For every 100,000 subscriber count I try to do a video showing one of my collections! It’s been a while but in this video I will show you my bandsaw collection and also show you my latest bandsaw restoration, at the end of the video I run it on a "hit & miss" engine from 100 years ago!

A big thank you to Rob Rojas who help me restore this bandsaw
go give him a follow on Instagram!

  • Dude is the Jay Leno of antique iron... and yet Jimmy's so young, no telling what and how much more. Amazing to watch all these years from that NYC basement shop to here. Thanks for showing us your marvelous journey
  • I love that you got Mr Petes hit-n-miss engines and put one on the saw. Just awesome

"How many bandsaws are too many bandsaws?" Jimmy : I don't understand the question 😶

WOW, Great collection. I have a 12" Craftsman bandsaw, I attempted to replace the rubber bands, I bought the bands from Sears and they don't fit right so the band saw is sitting in the back of my little my shop. I kept the old bands , so I'm going to put them back on and just give it a good cleaning and hopefully get it working again. I bought it cheap from an old friend of mine, He cut his finger off and the doctor told him it was time for him to give it up. He has since past away, so His wife called me up and gave me his small drill press too.

I remember reading an article in a Fine Woodworking magazine, 30 or 40 years ago, about an old stair maker. He said the best woodworking machines ever were built in the '20s. He said they were made to the tightest tolerances.
  • Just did a make-over of my Dad’s Craftsman 12” Band saw/sander. Wish I had a larger shop, I would keep it, as I like it better than the old 14” Delta I have. But a new Laguna with more throat is now my go to bandsaw for cutting up turning blanks, so it will soon be finding a new home. Hope it gets appreciated as much as you appreciate your restored machines.

I remember having a Do-All bandsaw in shop class in the early 70's because the idiots in class were constantly breaking blades and it had it's own blade welding system on it. Also you are the epitome of the old saying...."You can never have too many clamps"
  • @RexusKing
Writing blade specs on the inner side of the blade cover is very simple yet clever!

Congratulations Jimmy. You are one of a kind man.

Kentuckian here. My wife was shouting at the phone “It’s pronounced Lou-uh-vul!” Lol. Awesome collection. Here’s to the next 1.8M.
  • @PaigeMaker
Congrats and thank you Jimmy! 😃👊 I inherited a 14” delta bandsaw from my grandpa, and your enthusiasm for these old machines makes me cherish it even more! That art deco base is so gorgeous too! I think I’m going to need to find one of those myself... good thing you show us that you can’t have too many! 🤣

Reminds me of Norm Abram. He doesn't change Router bits, he just changes Routers.

So happy you and TubalCain are friends. Love watching both of you. Glad to see the HIM Engines being put to good use.
