Thanks to Woodland Trust from whose livestream I took this clip. Check out their live cameras on Nest One & Nest Two supported by players of People's Postcode Lottery at www.woodlandtrust.org.uk/ospreys

In this clip: 22.13.28 Dorcha lands on her perch. She looks very damp, must have been fishing, did she catch anything?
Allowing for wet feathers fluffed up, she does look slightly rounded, difficult to see. She preens herself thoroughly
22.17.09 Gives herself a good shake, keeps preening
22.33.06 Dorcha departs, flying off her perch, just feet showing as she flies over the nest and out of sight on the right

Brief history of the nests:
2016 Woodland Trust acquire the Loch Arkaig ancient Caledonian rainforest remnant and manage it in partnership with Arkaig Community Forest.
2017 A nest cam is installed on a refurbished Osprey nest. A young male Louis and a young female Aila take up residence and raise one male chick to fledging: Lachlan JH4. 2018 Louis & Aila return but a Pine Marten steals all their eggs.
2019 Louis & Aila return and raise two female chicks to fledging: Mallie JJ0 and Rannoch JJ2.
2020 Louis & Aila return and raise two male and one female chicks to fledging: Doddie JJ6; Vera JJ8 and Captain JJ7.
2021 Louis returns but sadly Aila doesn't. Louis takes up residence on a new nest with a new mate Dorcha and they raise two male chicks to fledging: Aspen LW3 and Alder LW4. This is designated Nest Two, no one takes up residence on Nest One.
2022 Woodland Trust install a nest cam on Nest Two. Louis & Dorcha return and raise two female chicks to fledging: Willow LW5 and Sarafina LW6. Still no residents on Nest One.
2023 Louis & Dorcha return, and raise one male chicks to fledging: Ludo LY7. No residents on Nest One but male Garry LV0 spent a lot of time flirting with Affric 152 despite her mate Prince still being around.

The Woodland Trust nest cam was installed by Wildlife Windows in Arkaig Community Forest, it is funded by The People's Postcode Lottery and operates on wifi provided by Locheilnet. Watch the livestream 24/7.

Hopefully with the better weather they can both catch more fish..

The colours are stunning at this time of day, guess Dorcha needs to decide when it's time for her to fish, I hope she caught one, the weather is better.

Definitely been fishing - but wondering if she caught one! Thanks Geemeff

She’s drookit! Must be out of practice, and if cold weather is keeping fish deep, have trouble getting hold of her dinner 🥺
