Kessler named 'chief science officer' by Biden so I had to watch some video. I went from standard American diet to whole food-plant based, strict. It's not strict, painful and bland. It's just strict as never diverge from the program. Anyway, I lost 55 lb still down 50, but did it for total serum cholesterol which was high at 210. Went to 125, still not higher than 135. Off blood pressure med and blood pressure normal. Heart rate (resting) was high and now it is normal without the medication. It's night and day, and the foods, they do taste superb but it takes discipline to get started. Now, it's much, much easier to maintain a healthier weight. Some claim it's the high fiber amount, but I wonder if it's also the super rich foods have high amounts of sugar and salt, and are manipulated in many ways, whereas whole plant foods not as much. Plus there's huge advertising. It's shoved down our throats.
  • Fabulous presentation and an amazing book I will reference time and time again!

The book "30 Days to Stop Overeating" by Harper Daniels takes an interesting mindfulness approach. Weight loss can be very psychological, tied to stress etc.

I wish the person recording the video would have zoomed on the overhead documents.

"Change that valence" - that's a concerning idea that our Federal officials aren't calling balls and strikes, but rather trying to change social norms instead of making good policy.

May we have subtitles for the comments, please? So much was lost....

First it was Dr Phil then Oprah.....
  • He's a bit of a scatter brain and his audience grasp at complex reasons and answers. Lots of bewilderment going on here.
