  • I had a house built in Tennessee 30 years ago and visited the site every week and corrected things done by the builder every. single. time.
  • @mg9001
Subcontractor: "Can't see it from my house . . ."
  • They put it up fast but they did a HORRIBLE šŸ‘Žjob! What a mess! Well done to catch the expensive adjustments. If I were the owner I would be extremely angryšŸ˜” and would not trust any further work from this builderšŸ‘Ž and the subcontractors....Wow! Thank you Casey for your channel. We are learning a lot from you, even from Eastern Canada, Atlantic Canada, the province of Prince Edward Island. šŸ™šŸ’

Might as well not flash those pipes at all if that's how you're going to do it
  • @ltdtmy
On the closet flange those stainless rings will spin they just need to get the off the flange than spin it and anchor it down no big deal
  • @glenmartin2437
Thank you. You videos are most helpful. We called in a plumber and an electrician to do some serious repairs. Happy New Year.

New inspector here in the Greater Austin area and am trying to learn pre drywall inspections. Iā€™m really digging your content and learning a lot. Keep up the great work!
  • Gosh! Who are the subcontractors and builders for this home! What a mess! How can there be a regulatory organization to stop builders like this from traumatizing hardworking people trusting their hard earned money. UGH! This happens everywhere and in Canada as well. šŸ˜”šŸ‡ØšŸ‡¦ Casey, good thing you are watching peoples back! šŸ‘šŸ’Æ

Ufer ground. Interior bottom plates not required to be treated if on a slab. Let in braces not necessarily used as shear walls but for plumb and liner. See plan

Those toilet flanges are adjustable. The metal ring will spin

Glad I've not had to do any home inspections these past 30 years. Just from the cardboard "sheathing" I'd recommend the buyer walk away.
  • @weekendwarrior3420
I wonder what happens to those finger-joints if the wall is ever flooded.
  • @alafrosty
At 7:09, the shear wall needs structural blocking at the mid height of the studs for post strength. Studs of eight foot length are not going to support a load without horizontal bracing at least every 4 feet vertical, or preferrably less.

A small run like that next to a 14ga low voltage wire isn't that big of a problem. It's twisted pair which helps mitigate that. If that was the service or a water heater line, then yea move it or run shielded.
  • @PPG1967
    Wow!!!...who are the subcontractors?
  • @TheBostonstapler
as a plumber, how do you install the tub drain without removing the bracing ? tell the client to buy the tub with the drain on the other side ? shouldnt the builder know the drain goes there and have made the bracing on the other side of the wall ? just curious what you guys think
  • @59seank
I feel sorry for the homeowner. I doubt the builder will fix those problems. The local inspectors are useless if they pass that mess.
