It's make me happy to see the immediate difference in the atmosphere when you speak their language. They gain that sense of comfort and ease. Hope to see more soon 🙏

The purple haired lady @ 51:00 -ish is honestly the funniest person I've seen on this channel (sorry Xiaoma lol) Honestly might be the reason I get serious about my language learning. There's so many cool and interesting people you'll never really get to meet otherwise.

OMG, Michael's mother is a riot. She's hilarious. What a fun person.

Two guys saying, let's get our nails done... never fails to make me grin. Learning foreign languages is the best way to world peace.

Everyone of them said “too much” for the $1000 tip. It made me cry. I hope they all made it through.
  • 43:08 This part makes me want to cry. What a great way to thank those in the neighborhood who works so hard. They didn’t want to accept your gift.

The nail tech was so sweet, we are so far from our homes so we work hard, what a wonderful way to sum up the Chinese people as a whole!!

it feels like you take a culture that maybe feels unseen, non appreciated or whatever it might be, and by just simply learning the language you help it be seen, understood by others and create an instant connection with people. its amazing!!! you make me wanna learn just so i can better connect with people!! maybe one day you will learn tagalog? Its pretty easy. in the philippines theres a lot of dialects, you would have endless fun!

I think the way it brightens up people's day when you're speaking to, for example someone who speaks Cantonese and has only generally hears it from other individuals who moved to the US? That's incredible, and your videos have inspired me to retry learning a new language. Thank you for being a positive force in YT; especially with your video during COVID, my close friend is from Korea and I would wait for her at the train stop we both took to class, and ride with her back to her car because the issues were so indiscriminate at those times it was better safe than sorry sadly enough. But things have gotten better and thank you for all the amazing and uplifting/inspiring content? Dankeschön mein Freund!

I've been learning Mandarin for about a year now, and your videos have been so helpful for learning conversational Chinese cadence and conversational flow outside of my lessons. Thanks for putting these all in a compilation for us

You can't make long vids like this man. I got things to do with my day haha.
  • @mousebr549
This is the BEST video I have seen in a long long time! It's so heartwarming to see how gracious these people are to receive this gift. I bet it felt great to do this for them.
  • @UncleBubba
Michael's mom in the nail bar made me laugh - she's pure gold :D
  • Everytime these people lighten up and open their hearts is amazing to see. Please never stop doing what you do.

Just showing some effort in learning a community's language opens up so many avenues to meet people and accelerate your learning. Xiaoma is clearly a pro at this but even with just knowing a few words and showing interest you will instantly feel welcomed. Open yourself up to different cultures and the reward will be everlasting.

Smiling from ear to ear...seen all your videos but to put them all together like this is great. Really heartwarming stuff. I love the way Chinese women, young and old are so bold and happy to talk to a stranger without any inhibitions. Strong and independent people. Cheers from Manchester, UK
