The right thing to do is like Piers said:GIVE the students the CHOICE to wear either, not just say "no skirts"

The School I went to girls could choose whether they wanted to wear trousers or skirts. ZA

I'm a woman who's never worn a skirt since she was admitted to Marshall Tito's Pioneers at the age of 6. I find the idea of banning SKIRTS in schools in western Europe a logical continuation of the banning of girls in the said schools - a preposterous one. We just spent 20 years convincing people not to ban MEN from wearing skirts and now suddenly some mentally ill asylum patients are pointing out WOMEN wearing skirts offends them?

I swear, schools in Europe have gone nuts. This debate and also having 100 gender identities… being able to identify as a “cat“ or a table lamp🙄 I’m an American, and I went to a Catholic school till the age of 12. Yes, we wore school uniforms but girls still had a choice of wearing pants or a uniform dress or skirt. On the days I had gym class the girls wore gym shorts. It’s not that hard or complicated. It really irks me that these adults are trying to FORCE their “forward, thinking” onto young, impressionable kids, who are only just discovering who they are themselves. It’s almost like being JUST a male or female is a bad thing over in Europe now…people, businesses, schools, etc. are too scared to not be considered “woke” enough or politically correct.

Just have skirts and trousers and let the girls choose which one they are comfortable. Boys can wear either trousers or knee length shorts. Problem solved.

Some kids just cannot afford to wear a different outfit everyday..That is the main reason why I think uniforms are a better choice...this is so childish on so many levels...then the kids will be bullied because they dont have nice enough clothes to wear..all this is so crazy to me
  • If they ban skirts for school girls, there are many who would stop sending their children to school for moral / religious reasons.

What if we were to say, all students must wear skirt and trousers are being done away with - everyone would go wild so why is it always the fem stuff that removed. I was a tomboy wore predominantly trousers in school as soon as I had a choice (high school) but does that mean the fem girls I grew up with should be forced to do the same - no. In teen years, male, female or trans, you should be able to choose what to wear within the remit of the school uniform like shirt or poloshirt, cardigan/blazer/branded jumper, black skirt or black trousers, whatever their options are, there should be a couple to choose from that fit the school's brand/uniform x

Guess if you wanted to wear a Kilt ,that'd be out of the question too. Mmmm
  • @billburns7806
The women on the show want to ban skirts. They are each wearing dresses!!!!!!
  • @Idge
Wear what you want. Obviously decency needs to play a part. I don't get this short skirt thing where you can see your undies but people should be allowed to wear whatever as long as it's decent.
  • As a girl and a Muslim, wearing a skirt helps modesty and is part of religious rights.
  • If I had to wear pants at my private school I would’ve HATED it, we had the option to wear either khaki pants or the skirt and 99% chose skirts
  • @leimdak
this whole trans thing is so out of control... banning skirts now sigh
  • @TheMandie1111
Give them a choice. They get to chose between skirts or pants.

Piers needs to go to school to learn that its rude to interupt and talk over another speaker. Even when hes right.
  • I've subscribed back as of yesterday, as I don't like the vultures circling. However, you did yourselves a great disservice by handling Mark Steyn, Dan Wootton, Laurence Fox, and, perhaps, Calvin Robinson like you did (also, why I unsubscribed). If you believe in free speech, they should have been kept on. Mark is challenging Ofcom in Court in June. You ought to have done the same.

Make uniforms just that: uniforms, same for boys and girls and the obvious default would be trousers. Practical and unisex. Equality.
