Me and my boyfriend met on a support page. He got outed as trans to his parents and was having a really hard time. I told him I would listen and try to help, we kept talking for like 3 months and eventually he asked me out.

I was online dating for a bit and it was SO unsuccessful blegh and then I met my gf irl and our first date lasted 8 hours lol. we just kept hanging out and talking which is the BEST sign ever! My heart and mind were so open to meeting my person whether online or off - be open, be brave, be honest! and take breaks from dates to cuddle your cat. (my sage wisdom)
