After over 20 years of homeschooling (and still going strong!), my favorite math and language arts curriculum for k-7M/8LA is Christian Light Education. It’s foundational, complete, and has seen 4 of my kids flourish through high school and 3 do the same at university (the 4th one is a senior in HS currently). Our 5th and 6th kids, ages 13 and 6, are both going strong with it as well. Just another alternative for those that may want something very hearty and strong, but also very affordable.

I'm glad that we found this curriculum this year. I love the way it teaches and my kids and I aren't burned out!! We love it!!
  • Love this video! Thank you for all of the great information!! I would love to hear about the subscription boxes. 😊
  • We Just Love ABeka! My daughter just finished the 6th grade math you showed. What a beautfiul thing to LOVE your curriculum. Such a relief. I love this video- nice work.
  • We love IEW and Fix It Grammar, too! I also use AAR. I kept all of the activities that go with AAR and organized them in page protectors in a binder. I have levels 1-3. I don't have to cut out and staple all those pages again when I re-use them with my youngest, not too mention no need to purchase them again.
  • Yes! Would love to hear more of ur experiences for all the diff subscription boxes! ❤
  • Thank you for making this video!! I have been wanting to switch our math curriculum and I think we will give the Good and The Beautiful a try!
  • I was paying for the streaming Math through Abeka and you're absolutely right about it being better when I taught the concept and then had them practice.

I started homeschooling midway through the year & we've been using TGTB LA & Math and my kiddo seems to enjoy it. We're learning way more than we were ever learning with virtual through the district. My daughter is autistic and the pace of the program doesn't seem to be too much and if it is we just take 2 days to do one lesson. That's one of the perks of homeschooling. My kiddo has also thought some of the stories were boring.

Please do a subscription box video! We need this! Thank you for this video, I love your content.
  • I so appreciated your review! I am a new homeschooling mom and definitely felt the same way you did about selecting a math curriculum. I also landed on TGTB. You were exactly on point as we are a secular homeschooling family and felt that TGTB math would still be a good fit for us (although we haven’t used it yet). We have selected other programs for year 1 but saved your video as we work through our trials and may need to switch our curriculum if something isn’t working. Beautiful job, thank you.
  • This is such a good review. Thorough, concise, and unbiased. I love your spirit. I am a homeschool/homesteading mom of 6, and I am so thrilled to have found your channel. Just subscribed. Thank you for your excellent information ❤

I would love to see a video about all the different subscription boxes you have tried!
  • I would love to hear about the subscription boxes you use. I'm always tempted by them but usually can only find reviews on their own sites. I really enjoy your channel. You give so much information about the curriculum and make sure to provide warnings for us secular folk. That said, we love the Good and the Beautiful too. It's fantastic. Enjoy your schoolyear!

Thank you for sharing your experiences. I’m a first year homeschool mom of a 5, 7 and 10 year old. It’s definitely been some trial and error. We switched to TGATB math, handwriting and LA mid year and that made a HUGE difference. I was curious about their science and history, so your video was super helpful to me. I think I will try them for those subjects. At the end you mentioned subscription boxes… I would be interested in hearing more about what you have tried and what has worked for you. Thanks!
  • Hi Stacy. Nice to meet you. I am a homeschool veteran of 4 children. They are all grown and have families of their own now. Curriculum is so excited to see! We loved unit studies and abeka for math. New subscriber! Thank you.
  • I love how you talked about all the ages!! Your videos are very thorough:)
  • I love seeing what other homeschool mamas are using and loving! We have friends who absolutely love the good and the beautiful and other friends who use strictly abeka streaming as both parents are working and the kids are able to use abeka on their own and check in with the parents when the parents get home from work. As for us, we love master books! But I still enjoy watching what other families are using!
