I'm surprised no one mentioned Victorinox SAKs, with alox handles. They certainly look more expensive than they are, they have that fancy, premium feel (opposite to plastic SAKs), and I've never met someone who's not proud owning one.

The Italian companies do good work on making knives feel more expensive than they are.
  • I work for Tyson in a manufacturing facility for tortillas we produce millions a month for everyone McDonald’s sonic del taco I mean everyone but the fine flour keeps gumming up my bearings on my 300 dollar knives the slacker field strip is perfect for me and my situation I’m so thankful you guys do these videos

Hey DCA, I am a carpenter and use my knife all day for a variety of construction related tasks. I currently carry a Spyderco Delica in VG10. I like this knife but I’m looking for a faster opening method and maybe a slightly better steel. This knife will get dusty, used hard and sharpened often to keep the edge refined. I’d like to stay under $200. Thank you, this is an awesome series.

DCA and Seth this is maybe the best vid u have done together in a long time. Excellent content and a great topic. Maybe do another one in midrange for same but with 150 limit? Or 200 limit? Wider range and would require more thought. Excellent content either way. Bravo sirs
  • Just picked up the Begg Steelcraft Series JVO Traditional Sheepsfoot, stainless steel handle, 14C28N blade, slip joint from the Knife Center at $31. Very good materials, great quality. Thanks KC.
  • So good to finally see some quality budget knife videos! I mean how many times can you watch videos of premiums and grails? Great video, nice to see you both in a vid!

A inexpensive but luxury feeling knife is the Knife center exclusive CJRB Pyrite Alt with the titanium and burlap handles
  • @brettt1268
The Kershaw leek is still a great choice in this category
  • @kushviper
My Al Mar Hawk with stag handles from a dozen years ago is one of the most beautiful knives I’ve ever seen. I added a leather lanyard with a snake vertebrae as a bead
  • My wish list is already long enough. You just added a tableful to it! I think the CKRT Symmetry falls into this category. I got mine on sale for $20. The Knifecenter version is really nice for $50. I got one for my wife. We love them.
  • Between two knives! I just commented on an old video yesterday asking for this back, I feel blessed!
  • Just got a Petrified Fish Forward and I love it. One of the best under-$30 knives I own.
  • DCA, what are the top 5 thinnest blades regardless of brand, size, type, etc?
  • You could go a completely different way and get a very interesting historical knife which would make a great conversation piece. I recommend the German Mercator Black Cat, the Kaiser Wilhelm knife used in WW1 and still produced on the same machinery today. The French Douk Douk is something similar and although hand made in France was much used by freedom fighters in their colonies. Handmade Spanish navajas made in Spain can be a great option too. These kind of knives get screaming edges on their high carbon steels. They will need sharpening more often but they are simple to sharpen and will definitely make the owner a real hobbyist. They are very affordable too.
  • @Xander_Park
Great to see some awesome knives at a reasonable price for a change
  • Would love to see more collabs with Dave & Seth. How about one where you see who’s better at identifying knives by their pocket clips only?
  • I bought a classic Old Timer the other day, now I want another one! 😃 great video today 👍
  • @Dan-ko9hn
Hey DCA hey Seth. Do you have knives you've retired from your daily carry because they became irreplaceable/the company stopped production? I'd love to see some of your most treasured knives!
