  • Can I point out the fact durmite is harder in the remake because the string attack is 11 frames and specifically Mario jumps has 3 frames which makes it having 8 frame problem to jump yes this problem can sometimes happen to Luigi
  • My Ranking: 18. Scutlet (It’s a fun fight but it’s way too basic.) 17. Alpha and Beta Kretin (Takes way too long and there’s no elemental weaknesses or Broken attacks to spam either.) 16. Junker (The complete opposite issue of Kretin. Shame too, it’s got the concept of an S-tier boss.) 15. Bowser’s Castle (The basic tutorial boss for the giant battles.) 14. Wiggler (A pretty serviceable fight but nothing special.) 13. Tower of Yikk (A fine boss, but Earthwake does this concept better.) 12. Durmite (I don’t understand why people hate this boss considering it’s got a lot to keep track of.) 11. Dark Fawful (I love this fight but it goes on for too long.) 10. Bowser Memory ML (Already in 10/10 territory. This fight is outstanding with attacks that match the Mario Bros and their personalities.) 9. Wisdurm (Again people are ridiculous for putting these fights so low. This I like a lot more since it’s more consistent and has a well-executed idea.) 8. Fawful Express (I’ll get the main problem out of the way. Having to blow in the mic every two seconds. Thankfully this was fixed in the 3DS port. The fight being timed is really interesting and I love all the changes to the fight being made in the blink of an eye.) 7. Midbus (I adore the concept especially how you can heal if you take any damage, but it does make the fight woefully easy and it’s not his final form either.) 6. Sea Pipe Statue (Let’s hear it for the best first boss in the series as it tests your knowledge of the vacuum block, and how bosses will work with Bowser at the wheel.) 5. Dark Star (A surprisingly tough fight as you take down the Satellmites to be able to damage the star itself. However it takes too long and without its original composition in the 3DS version, the fight feels stripped.) 4. Super Peach’s Castle (Without question, the best Giant battle in the series with how this fight counteracts every problem I had the the other giant battles in this game. Besides, black holes are a cooler concept than water.) 3. Bowser (This is ironically the weakest Bowser fight in the Mario and Luigi series but it still remains one of the best bosses in the series nonetheless. I love how Bowser has all of his moves that he’s learnt up to this point. Punch, fire and his current two special attacks.) 2. Blizzard Midbus (Midbus’s final form, and a phenomenal and difficult fight. All of the snow attacks, and the Snawfuls add a lot of flair to this fight and this fight is what I picture when I hear the generic boss theme in this wonderful game.) 1. Dark Bowser (The final boss is easily the best boss in the Mario series. The stakes? High. The difficulty? High. The setting atop Peach’s Castle? Superb. The gameplay? Outstanding! The Dark Star Core fight? Amazing! This is easily one of my favorite video game bosses, and I hope you can see why.)

Kretin is so much worse when you do a no bros attack Challenge Medal run, really highlights how repetitive the fight is. By contrast, Junker gets more challenging, I like it
  • I think it would've been really fun to have like a quartet of different Shroob varieties for the Cold storage fight. Make it more diverse and boss-like.
  • Small correction on the Shroobs: You can't fight them right after getting out of Bowser. You need both the Drill Bros. move from the Energy Hold as well as being able to inflate Mario with air, which makes the fight accessible after defeating Bowser Memory ML and obtaining the second Star Cure at the earliest. I agree with the fact that it's a bit strange to have the Bros. with no bosses between Bowser Memory ML and Junker. I feel they could've added one in Dimble Wood, particularly after the Bros. reunite following Mario's kidnapping by the Sockops. Instead, we just have a mandatory battle with four regular enemies. Speaking of places where bosses should've been added: Bowser really needed another regular boss. He gets five, being the Sea Pipe Statue, Wiggler, Midbus, Blizzard Midbus and Dark Fawful. It's pretty clear to see between which two there is a gigantic gap, and it's because both the Tower of Yikk and the Fawful Express come between them. You get up to four new Minion Attacks between Midbus and Blizzard Midbus, but no boss to use them on beforehand. If I were to add one, I'd probably put it in Bupsy Plains after Bowser learns the ground pound. Maybe right before Bowser Path as a sentry that Fawful stationed there. With a mechanic that has multiple minions that also can't be inhaled so that Bowser's multitarget-moves actually get some importance. I like Blizzard Midbus, but he could really do with another attack or two. The attack that he does in tandem with the Snawfuls never actually occurs if you just immediately inhale them, to which there is no point in not doing. It also brings up again the fact that Bowser's multitarget-moves are not all that useful in boss fights. Yet again, we kind of get this same issue with Dark Bowser. There's little reason to use anything on him but Broggy Bonker, so just having some minions around (that can't be vacuumed) would be nice. Dark Star Core, however, is amazing. The Final Boss demonstrates really well that Bowser's regular battles were just the tiniest bit underdeveloped. They don't really have any gimmicks beside occassionally inhaling smaller targets for Mario & Luigi to assist, and thus, Bowser's contribution in boss battles really just boils down to hit the enmy with brute force (then again, that fits his character). It's a minor nitpick about this amazing game that I've only really realised on my latest playthrough.

Honestly Super Peach's Castle of Fury is one of the most underrated bosses in the series and it deserves more recognition.
  • I get your feelings about Bowsers Castle but picture how someone sees the fight playing it for the first time. Bowser just got crushed by his own castle and you play this mini game as the bros. Then Bowser becomes gigantic and chucks his castle away. I don’t mind the simplicity of this fight because for newcomers it introduces special fights that would later be explored in future games.

Challenge Medal goes a long way to making this game harder. It makes so many enemies after you leave Bowser hit way harder and tank longer. I’ve picked it up on every playthrough after my first. You’d probably enjoy the game more with it.
  • @cheeseman463
the shroobs have another good thing about it. They grant you the the best bros move in the game (not the remake), the magic mirrors, a move that can do infinite damage depending on your button inputs.

Just found this video on my reccomended. It's a very well produced video, even if it's very different from the results I expected. Though, as a critique, mind the retakes on Number 6 and 5. I initially thought it was me mishearing at 6... but definitely heard it once I heard in 5. There could be others that I didn't pick up, but those are the most notable. Other than that, This video is great! Delivery, structure, etc is on point.
  • @voltron77
Wait, the reason why the Dark Bowser fight is so good is because it has a perfect atmosphere it’s a fight at the top of the world where two titans clash against each other.
  • @zaden2009
I see that you are remaking your older videos! Nice! And i like your new thumbnails as well! Also, Your first video is over 2 years old
  • I like Dark Fawful as a boss but that GODDAMN GOOMBA ATTACK has been the cause of many game overs because it’s so hard to counter.
  • @kaijuge6934
I don't know how you can think the Dark Bowser atmosphere isn't great. That final boss has stuck with me since middle school, and even after college, it's kind of a gold standard of final bosses to me. There are others that compete, but Dark Bowser was the first masterpiece of a final boss I saw, and it holds up for me to this day.
  • The bosses in this game aren’t the best in my opinion but I must admit the fight with the dark star is awesome
  • You should do a video about your own concept for a M&L game like areas, main antagonist(s) and crew, the third (and 4th) playable character,special/bros attack, bosses, plot, etc!
  • Top 5 bosses in inside story to me: 5.Bowser: a great fight with the bros against bowser fighting him with the moves he learns during the adventure in that point but his X form tho is a different story 4. Dark fawful a great final battle against the mastermind who wants revenge on Mario & Luigi for beating him in Superstar Saga also have a good balance for bowser and the bros to beat fawful 3.Bowser Memory ML: a boss fight against yourself(Mario & Luigi) yes please please a great concept fight 2. Blizzard Midbus: A hard but fair boss fight keeping you the player to understand his mechanics 1. Dark bowser: the best fight in the game and also a great way to end to this great game

I can definitely see what you mean for the bottom 7 on the list! I wish I had equipped the Challenge Medal as soon as I could because honestly it felt like a fresh experience because of the hugely increased POW and health (Junker was actually a challenge lmao). Did you use the medal for your playthrough?
