THIS MAN VISION IS JUST ABOUT BUSINESS AND NOT TROPHIES

As a Chelsea season ticket holder of over 30 years, I found this enlightening. Boehly is an intelligent and successful businessman with a clear vision of what he wants to do at Chelsea. and the brutal the sacking of the ever-popular Thomas Tuchel proves he will be ruthless in discarding anyone who does not align with his thinking. On one level I am excited about the future, but at the same time I am apprehensive and somewhat sceptical. He is right in identifying that the Premier League is the 'premier' global sports brand and that there are potentially untold untapped riches to be made if he is able to commercialise Chelsea in the way he is planning. However, football, especially in England is very traditional and adverse to change so he has a big job on his hands. In 50 years, Bohley will either be viewed as a visionary who changed football forever, or an upstart American entrepreneur who bit off more than he could chew and got his fingers burnt. It will be fascinating to see which one of those two it is.
  • Boehly's 4-4-3 system will revolutionise the game of football. 🤭

Holy shit....I didn't even know he was behind A24 too....Pretty much everything this man touches turns to gold and he's only 48 years-old.

Let's just take a moment to appreciate the fact that we didn't get a "Glazer" for a owner. Todd actually has a VISION for the future. We are lucky honestly as Chelsea fans. To go from one owner who cared for the club to another who cares just in a different way.

As a Chelsea supporter from 1967 has seen the bad and good times. Interesting in what Boehly was saying, he still has a lot to learn about the EPL. I believe Chelsea is now in good hands and the future is bright.
  • I've said it before and I'll say it again - Todd Boehly is Roman's farewell gift to Chelsea ❤
  • Lesson from this interview: passion for growing revenue is different from passion for the game.
  • He wants Chelsea to be at the very top of global football. That's for sure. Let's hope he can deliver.

Never could imagine Roman doing an interview like this.. its refreshing to see. Potter was right, Todd is very intelligent however as Chelsea fans we hope his passion remains the same down the years as well..

7 months later, where's Chelsea now? lol
  • Good interview Todd. I hope the vision and plans you’ve got for my beloved club Chelsea comes to fruition.

"The challenge Chelsea have now, . . is to put the 18, 19 yr old super stars' development in someone else's (paraphrased ).Our goal is to make sure we can show pathways for our young superstars to get onto the Chelsea pitch while getting them real game time". I waited for someone to voice this for this for years!
  • Wow this is a very impressive and educational interview. I like how he has taken time to learn about the club and has already built a philosophy of he's own. I now have great belief in him as the one of the new owners, the man is knowledgeable and decisive, he's also a visionary and seems well organized. Excited about the future of the blues, next up he must get the sporting director at Brentford.
  • My full respect to this man. 💯 He is open minded and sees opportunities clearly
  • @zayyad2185
I’m impressed by Todd. He’s vision is clear for the club. I like the fact that he admits to not knowing much about the game but will get the right people in place who do.
  • Interesting key note. Todd is definitely impressive and has learned extremely quickly as sporting director at Chelsea.
  • As a Chelsea fan of 30 years that also has a Marketing Degree I found this conversation fascinating. I agree with Todd on how he can see growth but there will be hard push back against it by the football fans and governing bodies which are ultra conservative and traditionalist. My idea is that the Premier League need to have their own app and fans can watch their club without needing a TV package subscription so the money goes directly to the Premier League and not TV companies. I am very excited for the future of Chelsea with Todd and the Clearlake group as owners.
  • Very intelligent owner we are looking forward to seeing more success on and off the pitch Mr Todd
