Is buying a USED TESLA a good idea? | Used Tesla Model S Review

Published 2024-05-13
Tesla's have a bad reputation when it comes to buying them used. I borrowed a 7 year old Tesla Model S 90D to find out what's gone wrong, what it's like to drive, and what sort of range you can expect from an old electric car.

To my surprise, it might be a good idea of you want a cheap to run luxury car.

Few notes on this Tesla as the owner of the car: - the fuse was replaced free of charge by Tesla - one of the handles did break shortly after this video, and that cost was $500aud to update to the "version 2.0 door handle" - one other door handle started playing up but still okish - Telstra is shutting down the 3g network so the current infotainment system with the screen needs to be replaced with the 4g one if you want maps/Spotify.. etc to continue working. Tesla quoted around $2500 - As Cameron said still drives really well, very responsive and quiet

I personally went with a used model S P85D over a new model 3 because i felt you got a lot more for your money, free super charging for life, sunroof, hatchback, launch control, air suspension, and so much more over the model 3... not to mention way less of them in the road vs all the 3s and ys on the road.

I've been wondering about this and waiting for someone to cover this topic for ages!

Great review as I am sure many people are considering a used Tesla S.
  • Great informative review about a car I've never really considered exploring, and I still wouldn't, but it was really interesting, thanks Cameron 😊
  • Hum...prices in the US for 2018 are running 30,000 dollars, 2016 for about 25,000. I would never pay 60, to 68, 0000 for these used
