Hi, Mike. I have a 13 yo daughter with Down syndrome that I have always homeschooled. I am a former public school educator turned unschool parent. It took a few years educating my eldest son to find my way to unschooling. He is now a sophomore in college doing fantastic so I know this form of education absolutely works. Just wanted to let you know as someone who is a few years ahead of you in educating a special needs child that you are spot on with Eve. Thought I would comment today to encourage you to keep pushing through with Eve. She is totally capable of learning what she needs to know. Merry Christmas!
  • This may sound crazy but tents are really cheap especially this time of the year so go buy at Walmart or Kmart or wherever mart like a 10 man or a 14 man tent and put your books on shelves in there and then they won’t get dusty from all of the projects and there’s room a nice size for a table and chairs for the kids to probably even sit and read if they want. And I mean to set the tent up inside your workshop so they get the comforts and the heat and the protection etc. but then they don’t get the dust.

The wooden buffet compliments the wooden table on the opposite end of the room....very nice!

Oommmggg My new favorite Eve moment .54 when she correct Asher for stand in her dads shot and interrupting the filming 🤣🤣🤣. She’s the best “ I could just hear her, “Asher move, can’t you see dads filming” hahaha she is getting so grown and smart !!! A lot of people can’t understand her but over the yrs of watching you guys I have seen her spirit flourish and her humanity thrive! She is sooo smart and and strong. She knows who she is and is confident ! She is decisive and outspoken !! I love that little girl! I’m so happy child and family found eachother and that ya’ll obeyed the lords call ! Destiny is unfolding everyday ! It’s been an unconventionally prosperous 2020 !!!
  • I really like these slice of life videos you are doing now. As for myself, I am older and I live alone. I miss my family and I miss family time so very much. I watch your videos with a smile on my face and a warm heart and I like joining in on your ordinary day. Well done young folks.
  • When I work with my kids on writing, math facts... i print off the paper or deconstruct the workbooks and put the pages in sleeve protectors so we can practice over and over again.
  • The piece of furniture was made for that space. Looks great Meghan.
  • @hsmomofmany9022
I love how Meghan made sure that there was less moving to do and just swapped the 2 pieces out. You could tell she was consoling him a little and trying to make it as smooth as possible. Very thoughtful.

I LOVE the new to you buffet 🥰 I am blown away by how well it fits that space and how great it looks with your table! My mother had a great Aunt Hattie, it is a very old name. Eve was a great little helper loading the van, I have a cognitively challenged son and he feels so good about himself when he is a good helper. AND... my 2 teen boys love to have bonfires here on our farm, the neighbors asked them to trim their bamboo away from the road. They put the bamboo on the bonfire and it started exploding so loudly that I thought they were either shooting guns or setting off fireworks! Scary stuff!
  • Can I just emphasize how much I love your channel! I love watching your family and getting a glimpse into your world. I have watched other family vloggers and have actually quit watching them because all they do is brag. Whether it’s all the fancy toys and electronics they have, or their houses etc..., they simply were doing nothing but bragging about everything they have or do. It was getting a bit depressing. So thank you for creating an inspiring channel and being so kind and simply amazing people!

it’s really moments like these that i see how much Megan and Mike really match and compliment each other!! they really fit in for anything the other doesnt(like mike liking to clean)
  • @ThePumpkinPatch
Daaang that cabinet is awesome! Great find (: I wish we had bigger thrift stores like that around us in MI. It's sad but so lucky for us that people don't recognize the beauty of the things they donate/toss out. :P
  • @Judymontel
Thank you so much for your additional efforts in vlogging. I know that filming, editing and all the other work that goes into making just one video is a lot, but I really enjoy hanging out with your family. I don't need exciting, I just like being with you guys!! Thank you!

What a beautiful find Megan. I agree with Mike, you got an eye for quality furniture for a cheap price.
  • You could use a little whiteboard and whiteboard marker for some extra practise for Eve. You could also fill a tray with salt and she can draw her letters in the salt, that's fun and good for her fine motor skills too.
  • @michelleh5727
Eve is like a little sponge... just absorbing so much.. so sweet.. I've noticed her speech has improved so her schooling is working.... way to go Eve and parents for teaching her!!
  • @rdjg5162
It might help to do some kinesthetic activities with handwriting. For example use different mediums like crayon, chalk, or paint. Also write the letters in a sand/salt tray, paint them with water on the cement, build them with clay, etc.
  • Love you guys. Glad your uploading as much as you are lately. Could never get tired of watching your adventures. :) you all are such an inspiration
