IV. Why Do We Need the Cross?
A. Consider the work of Jesus, a perfect workâperfect in every respect, perfect in
every aspect
B. Contrast priests of Old Testament with Jesus the high priest of the New Testament
(Heb. 10: 11)
1. The priests of the Old Testament always stood, never sat downâtask never
finished
2. Jesusâafter one sacrificeâsat down at the right hand of the Fatherâit is
finished
3. For those who are being sanctified (1 Thess. 5: 23)
4. Jesus sanctified by the Father (John 10: 36; 17: 19)
But He also sanctified (set apart) Himself
C. The Christian life is the transition from the legal to the experiential (John 1: 12)
