For the record, whether people want to admit it or not, the Beatles influenced EVERYTHING that came after them.
  • Dude, you have no idea what brilliance lies buried in their rabbit hole. Dig deep and you will be rewarded.

Man what breaks my heart about this video is they are truly happy haveing a great time. But this is last time they perform together .

The London police showed up during this song to try to shut them down because of noise and traffic concerns. You can see them milling around on the rooftop. During the final song “Get Back” the police shut off George and John’s amps, but Harrison turned his back on in defiance and their manager turned John’s back on. They finished after that song. Lennon finished the concert with “I'd like to say thank you on behalf of the group and ourselves, and I hope we've passed the audition."

On April 4, 1964, the Beatles became the only musical act to hold the top five spots on the Billboard Hot 100 simultaneously. The songs in the top five were: "Can't Buy Me Love" at number one "Twist and Shout" at number two "She Loves You" at number three "I Want To Hold Your Hand" at number four "Please Please Me" at number five

Ringo Starr was the drummer and George Harrison was the other guitar player. McCartney and Lennon wrote and sang most of their songs, but they let Harrison contribute a song or two on every album, and some of their very best songs ended up being Harrison songs. Here Comes the Sun, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, and Something were among his and their best. They all pretty much sang the songs they wrote, although they sometimes threw a song to Ringo to sing. Harrison's voice is difficult to differentiate from Lennon's at first until you get to know them better. Because Harrison only got one or two song per album, when they broke up, he had so many songs stockpiled that he put out a triple album called All Things Must Pass that was tremendous and had multiple hits!
  • The Beatles pushed boundaries and took things to new levels that no one had before. The talent of all four members was incredible.

Yes, the third guy on the guitar is George Harrison. I recommended a week or so ago that you listened to Prince’s guitar solo on the Tribute to George Harrison’s ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps’. Well that’s George Harrison himself right there. And on the tribute, you can see his son playing guitar. Looking exactly like a young version of his dad. And so so obviously full of joy (as all the other musicians on that tribute do too) to watch and hear Prince perform. I believe Prince said that he didn’t want to rehearse with the rest of the band on the tribute but just wanted to turn up on the day and surprise them. And so he did. His performance is thrilling. Amazing. (Prince, maaaan!!) X

You might find it interesting to experience the Beatles chronologically. Their music shows a progression over time, as they experimented and grew. I would also say that beyond appreciating the music as it stands, you will gain a greater appreciation by putting it in historical context. Everything they did was new. They influenced and changed the music for all. As others have noted, this rooftop performance was at the end.
  • I’m 78 and was born in Liverpool. I saw the Beatles aged 15 at Litherland town hall and they were amazing absolutely amazing. That was 63 years ago and I still remember that first time! I’m envious of you BP because you’ve got so much more to listen to from this band.

The guitarist is George Harrison. He wrote and sang "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". You should check out not only the original version, but there's also a live version done after his death consisting of his son, and a bunch of his AMAZING guitarist friends including Prince, who gives one of HIS best guitar solos EVER.

People also forget that the first week the Beatles charted there were classical records in the charts.Their music changed everything. Ozzy Osborne states that music before them was in black and white, it went full colour because of them.

George Harrison and Ringo Starr are the other members of the Beatles. If you’re not familiar with their music, get prepared for the best musical ride of your life, honey
  • @brianorzel1873
The Beatles laid the foundation for most modern music. Everything they did was important.

Oh Man! This is the BEST live performance. You got the #1 out of the gate of live performances of The Beatles. The man in the red shirt is the great George Harrison. The brutha on the keys is the GREAT Billy Preston. Now the real mindblower. They performed all these songs LIVE on top of the Apple Studio on Saville Rd. No tweaking, no messing around with the mix. Straight up talent BP!
  • Don’t sleep on Billy Preston on the organ, it completed the song. They “knighted” him as a Beatle during the recording of Get Back
  • This was their last time playing together as the Beatles this was the year they split
