2001-2010 Duramax truck were not equipped with a Diesel Lift Pump. This video will help you understand how that creates engine performance issues in your truck and how to install a Fass Lift Pump to eliminate those issues. The FASS and AirDog installation process is only slight different, and I will show those differences, and help you understand the pros and cons of each.

  • Ive got an Air Dog sat on my dinning table, I’m starring at it and the the wife and kid are starring at me. None of us were happy, until we watched your video… wife said “well, I suppose you can do it and we will get our @#^%ing dinning table back then”. My daughter said “daddy can I help”..? So thanks for making a video that makes it look fun for my kid…… she’s probably just going to bring me some snacks and ask me to play Mario Cart, but she’s 9, so I’m flattered 😊

Really good video. Thank you for taking your time to make these videos.
  • @FASSFuelSystems
We appreciate your business, and hope you love the system!

You didn't make this video until a few months after I had installed my first ever lift pump I ever seen even first diesel truck but I got to say in retrospect I think yours is the best of the videos that I've seen. First off besides being thorough about what to do and why you injected some humor and fun and it made it actually cool to watch through even though I've now, done it.

I’m still in the process of saving my money to get 1. And thanks again for the laughs throughout the video.

Baldwin filters are very good.I used them on the ranch for 20 years

A PPE power centrifuge oil filter that mount to the top of the engine, for easy serviceability, would really help keep that engine clean and living a long time.

great video! i ordered a FASS pump today and plan on following your procedures! your video is the best procedure ive seen on youtube! my 2008 w/160k is having fuel issues possibly due to vacuum loss from worn seals hoses etc. i agree completely with the need for a lift pump for the high pressure pump feed. makes perfect sense as many diesels have! not sure why duramax didnt use lift pumps on some systems! thanks for this great install video and helpful and interesting information.
  • @FORGETYOU8

GREAT VIDEO! You are a likable fella to begin with, love the subtle sarcasm. It makes for an easier watch. You should go into content creation, you have the right personality. Anyway, thank you for this video bc it’s been far more useful than any others and you made it more enjoyable, GOOD JOB!

I've had the AirDog 165 II on my 96 GM 6.5L since 2013. The truck is happier with it than the OEM. Even the OEM 1994 LP which was supposedly a little better. Mine was gifted having been on two previous trucks since 2008. Customer service was great as I chose to go with new hoses vs. the already twice cobble up ones I recieved. Clear instructions and I'm not intuitive though I had to adapt because at the time, there wasn't a kit for the 6.5 motor equipped trucks (They do now). The pump motor failed after four years later (guess I'm part of another 1% group [Veteran) and, again, customer service was great. Sold me a new motor only and for a low price and I was able to repair the system in short order. The truck was off line until last year and I just reinstalled the AirDog. Again, the truck is much happier and I plan to leave it in.

Good video, thanks. I bought the FASS for my 2004 Chevy 6.6 Duramax, I liked the 5/8" long sweep tube in the pump opposed to the smaller 1/2" 90-degree tight bend on the Air Dog. Bought the filter delete from FASS but it would not stop leaking, had to take it off, put a new filter and housing on instead, now I have a nice aluminum filter delete paperweight I can't do squat with. Anyone else have that problem with the filter delete not working? I increased my highway mileage about 1.5 -2 mpg. I typically get around 27-28 mpg on the highway empty and hauling around 22 mpg, depends on the ambient temp. I'm all stock on my 2004 dually crew cab so I installed the 100 series, just turned over 112,120 miles when I got the safety inspection the other day. I highly recommend everyone do this for your diesels. It's $700 well spent. I always buy new trucks and take care of what I have. Still have a 1992 Ford F-350 dually crew with the 7.3 and 5 speed manual.
