I love that he wanted to get her them for Christmas and called her first to ask her. Not worth a surprise if it turns out the person doesnt want them or cant take care of them. Love seeing someone finally ask first before gifting.

UPDATE: I found two kittens in a drainage ditch where I live. On and off I have been seeing a man who lives across from me. I brought the kittens to him, 8 months previous he adopted two. He relocated he is an RN and is renting a tiny house cabin and as am I, of course he couldn't keep he melted my heart when he couldn't go to sleep without naming them, we went camping last weekend on the way there he was talking about how much he'd miss them. :-)You know a man loves you when he's a dog person and he wants to give you two cats ❤️
  • These cats know that this dad is a keeper. On a more serious note, the cats probably imprinted on the dad because he rescued them. I rescued an old cat (13 yrs ) from an adoption shelter that was not coping too well and she never left my side. We live in the country and I could walk her around our property off lead and she would go out and come in with me, like a shadow. Cats pick their humans

This is literally the embodiment of: Dad doesnt want a cat, dad and the cat:

I adopted a male kitten and he became so loving toward my sick mother. He made her last few years so happy! Cats rock!

I love at the very end, the cat's ear flips inside out while snuggling his dad, so his dad does the dad-job of fixing the cats ear. What a good dad!
  • Same here. My girlfriend wanted a cat, so we went to the rescue to check them out. She picked the one, but had to work on the day we had to get him. So I went alone. The cat hid for a week, but eventually he hopped up on the couch and stayed next to me. She was so mad hahaha. He avoided her like the plague. Maybe she was too aggressive in trying to pet and hug the cat and I left him alone, but hey, I don't have a girlfriend anymore, but i do have a cat 🤣🤣
  • you don't choose a cat, the cat chooses you. it is sacred and touches a very special place deep within you. Miss you Jellicoe

I love that “being the alpha” means giving his brother the most kisses and cuddles and making sure he is well groomed. 🥰

No joke. Literally everyone I've ever heard say they "don't like cats", end up liking a cat at some point after owning one themselves. Or after ACTUALLY interacting with a cat normally, and realising they are quirky and cute too.
  • So happy to hear they adopted a bonded pair. Thank you for welcoming them into your home and giving them the love and care they deserve and need.

Something very important to note that they kind of passed over at the beginning: He wanted to surprise his girlfriend with cats for Christmas but still asked her beforehand which is the absolute right way to go about getting pets in a family, so props to these two! So many partners get a pet out of the blue to surprise their SO and it turns out they weren't okay with it or it didn't work out for whatever reason and those animals go to the shelter at best or get abandoned and killed at worst. So, please be mindful, think and talk with everyone in the household before getting a pet for everyone's sake!

I love that he called his partner talked to her about getting the cats, rather than getting them as a surprise. Not all presents have to be a surprise and this is especially the case when it comes to the long-term responsibility of a pet.

They know he's the one that rescued and gave them their forever home!! So lovely! And how awesome is he to bring her cats, as a dog person. Just awesomeness.
  • I never dreamed that I would have such a loving relationship with my cat. He’s my first one. I rescued him from behind a dollar general next to some pallets with ants all over him. I’m so glad I brought him home. Now he’s my best friend. I can’t go to sleep easy if he’s not purring asleep on my chest. He’s so affectionate with me. He loves and plays with my two children but as soon as he sees me he wants me to pick him up. The kids are super jealous lol.
  • Cats are adorable. Soft and cuddly, no doggie smell, self-sufficient but very social. Lots of head butts and smooches.
  • Omg this is the same as my husband! He told me that cat’s were “evil” and “women’s pets” and then we found a pregnant stray living behind a Walgreens one night and started feeding her every day on our way to the bus stop and about a week later, we just took her home. We had planned on finding homes for the 5 kittens, but we ended up keeping 3 of them and the momma! Now, my husband is a total cat man! I have to stop him from trying to bring home EVERY stray he finds!
  • I rescued an older cat who is now about 14 years old with absolutely no teeth. His name is”Cat Face”He loves my husband a lot more then me “feel like the third wheel”, so I get what you are filling. 🐾🐾
  • My boyfriend was the furthest thing from a cat person when we met! He even went as far as to say he wasn't a huge fan of my cat in particular. Six years later, and they are bonded beyond belief. They love cuddling together and I've since started to feel a little betrayed 😂
  • My husband is from Mexico and never had an indoor pet. Our senior cat rescue has totally trained him now. She just adores him. She taps him for massages. She “ conversates” with him. So sweet.
