Minnie Riperton, Denise Williams, Chante Moore all precede Mariah. All great singers; enough said❣️
  • @LuvlyLibra
Chante Moore actually hits the CHANTE MOORE whistle!!!!!
  • @angelinafoxx
Chante Moore deserves her flowers. One of the best vocalist
  • Chanté doesn’t “hit” whistle notes, she SINGS them. She sings multiple whistle notes, connects them together, plays with them, owns them.

My girl Chante so underrated her and Tamia both beautiful singers. 😊😊

Actually Chante Moore is not hitting a Mariah Carey whistle tone note. That note was first performed and executed by the legend Minnie Riperton. Many of this generation never heard of Minnie Riperton because she died of breast cancer in 1979 at the age of 31.

Thank you for giving Ms. Ripperton her due. Know that they both credit her with being the first to be recognized with the ability to hit those whistle notes in Black female singers. Thank you Mr. Stevie Wonder for finding that ability in Minnie Ripperton, Denise Williams and Syreeta Wright his first wife.

That's not Mariah's note. If yall wanna give credit to anyone for making that high note a thing give it to the first one to make it a thing, Minnie Ripperton! Nobody did it better.
  • @seand67
Chante's been doing this since her first album came out in 1992. Glad everyone finally noticed!

For an artist to sound as good live than on a recording means she/he is a true vocalist(singer).

This woman's voice is AMAZING!!!!!!!!! One of my favorite artists of all times!!!!!!!
  • Wow! Those vocal chords got a workout..🎤♩ Chante Moore does not get the flowers she deserves....💐🌹🌺🌷
  • @wsugarbear08
Her voice is a instrument, a flute in the orchestra playing a solo. Just beautiful....

Big fan of both Mariah and Chante. I never understand how taking away one accomplishments to praise another one benefits anyone. They both are incredible singers and should be praised for that.

No comparison to anyone else she’s in a class by herself & her voice earned that right!!!❤❤
  • Hi prof of voice and award winning songwriter here. Neither the legends Minnie Ripperton nor Mariah Carey originated whistle register. They were instrumental in bringing the vocal technique to popularity in modern pop, soul, and R&B music but they didn’t create it. Nor did Betty Wright, Deborah Cox, Rachelle Ferrell, Phillip Bailey, or the amazing Ms. Chante Moore here. Whistle register is a vocal placement that has been utilized since the 1600’s since the Baroque period of music. It has and is still utilized by Operatic performers especially Coloratura Sopranos to achieve fast and melismatic passages. So there’s no need to discredit or discount any of the mentioned singers as they are all talented and expressive users of whistle register placement it doesn’t belong to any of them they share the beautiful tradition of using it expressive in their music. Only love!

Chante was whistling before we knew who Mariah was. My favorite female vocalist. I love her so much, I named my daughter after her❤❤❤❤
  • Chante Moore! Phenomenal voice control! Hitting those super high notes! Awesome 👏👏👏♥️🙌🏼🙏🏼 WOW!!!🤩
  • @janetwilson6395
Chante sings with such conviction! Her voice control is sick. The richness, no acrobatics just pure vocals. She’s definitely gifted with the instrument she was born with. I haven’t seen her live n concert but I pray before I leave the earth. I will have my chance to witness her live. Chante Moore, you’re a treasure to see and hear. Thank you so much for your talent.
  • Queen of the whistle register. I've never heard anyone whistle like that LIVE. She's a beast!!!
