Introvert vs. Extrovert: Which Am I, and Which Is Better?

Published 2018-11-29
Counselor Carl explains the difference between introversion and extroversion, so you can determine whether you’re an introvert, extrovert, or somewhere in the middle. He also explains that introversion and extroversion are part of the temperament you were born with, so neither is right, wrong, or better than the other because both have strengths and benefits. He also suggests that relationships between an introvert and an extrovert can be complementary if both respect their different ways of approaching life . Counselor Carl's straight-forward teaching style makes complex concepts easy to understand. Counselor Carl is a licensed, professional counselor with 22 years of clinical experience both online and face-to-face.

I am an introvert and being friends with extroverts let alone dating was painful to me in the past. I judged myself for being not needy for attention, not enjoying social situations etc.. They didn't get me either. It was lonely. Then I adopted my first cat, then I found out I am an introvert, then I looked for more introverts, fell in love with one and got together. Now we all introvert together at home hehe Thank you for the video Carl, love your work and your serene temper!!

Is it possible as a person gains more healing and freedom in their lives, Breaking off childhood lies and false identities that she realizes she’s not an introvert after all...but actually more of an extrovert?

I have found that as I've grown older I've become more of an introvert.

Very relaxing videos and I love the calming intro music. What is the name of that song?

Great lesson, thank you! Could you please sometime talk about mini-addictions like coffee, tea, sweets, smoking, overeating, social media addiction, attention addicts. I'd really love to hear why those bad habits are formed and more importantly how to get rid of them in daily life.

I feel like in my teens (when I dissociated and needed to avoid my dysfunctional home) I was very extrovert. By the time I woke up and started to do all my healing work I became more thoughtful and introvert. And by now I enjoy being more introverted but also sometimes extroverted. Maybe I found the balance between those two and maybe I am both ? 🤔
  • Ha ha ,how strange, I created a similar video about introverts the other day, it's on my channel. Thanks for this video, great info.

I get how introverts can be conditionally social, but what are some examples that an extrovert might be shy? Only asking because I’ve never known a shy extrovert
