Can only speak for myself, but PLEASE do more videos like this. Really enjoyed the unedited walk and talk format, like a livestream that's...not live. Very cool spot! :finger-red-number-one:

The music fits perfectly! Super nostalgic.

Also, that brown shack looking area near the old JC Penny was the Peanut Shack. You could get a bunch of different dessert items like cookies and whatnot. I used to go there and get haystacks and ICEEs.

I used to live in Reidsville, and still visit yearly for family. This place was a dump in the late 90s and it's only gotten worse. Literal holes in the roof that water pours through when it rains. Interesting to see Bob Adams Florist is still in that building as they have been there forever. I guess there's enough older people in Reidsville that keeps the Belk afloat. I remember going into Roses in 2007 and seeing extremely faded Sega Genesis cartridge port cleaners dating back to 1993 displayed prominently on an aisle endcap. Funny too, that little fighter jet ride was something I rode on when I was 4 (I'm 38 now). The roof is by far the worst part of the building, and the mold is atrocious.

When I see this space I ONLY see potential. Its not too huge. It's fixable. A food hall. Smaller pop up shops restaurants with Cafe seating in the concourse. Escape rooms. Game rooms. Bowling with food and beer.
  • I love those old Chattahoochee River stone walls! That stuff was so popular decades ago!!!

Ace, thank you so much for your videos, ever since I was a kid, I loved exploring places like these, my family always thought I was crazy, glad to see I'm not alone 😎👍

I grew up behind the Rose's that used to be in Newport News Virginia in Denbigh. It was a great store in the hey day of discount stores. They outlasted Montgomery Wards, Zales and Kmart in the immediate area. I still visit the one in the Outer Banks from time to time. It's like a time capsule.

Awesome you're back doing dead mall vids again. Nobody does them better. Thanks ace

I rarely say this as there's usually some interesting features or retro charm, but this whole place is just a straight up dump. Thanks for the tour, glad the channel's back!
  • Anthony .i love the still of the rose's department store the lighting and the amount of clouds in evening sky made me😭😭 because it made me think of time back in the day when I was a young man thank you for the still picture of the Roses department store

Great video, Ace! I like this format, how relaxed it is. Honestly, though, when you went "beyond the caution tape," I was on the edge of my seat! I kept expecting something to jump out at you!
  • Great Video !.....reminds me of some of the smaller malls i used to go to as a kid in the 80s that had more mom and pop type stores and places like Radio Shack ....Miss those days and malls like this ..this one is dead now but then places like this had a charm that the newer big malls do not have and the shop owners back then were so friendly and knowledgeable ..

Great video!! Thank you for the work you do in preserving history on some of the things we once cherished in our lives like our shopping malls. I much rather shop in malls versus online shopping. There’s no greater way to shop than trying on clothes, shoes, smelling perfume, looking at physical media forms like books, music, movies, games, and actually eating inside a building with people around. To me there’s nothing in comparison. Like most everyone here, there’s a bit of nostalgia growing up walking through these concourses and corridors. Thank you for your videos.

What a liminal space!! I love dead mall content and this one is a gem! Also, your voice is so similar to Dan Bell's that I had to do a double-take on whose content I was watching! This is the first time I've seen your content and now I am looking to much more! Happy exploring!

You still play the best intro music. I like this new format. That's crazy that place is still open. Thanks for another great video.
  • This Mall Was My Childhood... At Least i got to see it at its peak!

If it is full of mold, you would think the health department would close it down. I forgot to mention, your videos are great! Thanks for sharing.
