Lived in SCV for 32 years raised both of my kids..yes great schools, but unfortunately it's overcrowded. We bailed 3 years ago and moved to Texas!

We have had quite a significant rise in shootings, couple in my neighborhood. If moving here I'd avoid the southern part of Newhall near the 14 on ramp, and also the general neighborhoods on the ground level of the hill by Canyon High School and Sierra Vista- Keep in mind, Canyon (Despite the much larger bully population at that school compared to other schools) is a great school just in a bad neighborhood.

I’m a new dad, I moved closer to Santa Clara a few years ago and I’m thinking of purchasing a single family home there, but with real estate prices currently through the roof, is it still a good idea to buy a home or should I invest in stocks for now and just wait for a housing market correction? I heard Nvidia and AMD are strong buys.

We lived there from 1993-2008. We left due to too many people, smog, wild fires, upswing of crime, backed up freeways, stupid high home prices and everyday car crashes in the valley. Good schools though....
