A farmer elaborates on the benefits of raw milk, emphasizing its nutritional advantages over processed alternatives and debunking common misconceptions about safety. He highlights the historical context of milk pasteurization and argues for informed consumer choices, advocating for raw milk as a viable, healthful option when produced under proper, safe conditions.

Mike Guebert, a local small scale integrated livestock farmer who sells raw milk from his farm direct to the public shares his perspective on the safety and benefits of raw unpasteurized milk. According to data from the Center For Disease Control, there are an estimated 9 million people in the U.S. who consume raw milk. To gain a sense of how polarized an issue raw milk is in this country, the following quotes, and information below paint two very different realities.

"Raw milk can carry harmful bacteria and other germs that can make you very sick or kill you. While it is possible to get foodborne illnesses from many different foods, raw milk is one of the riskiest of all."

"FORTY-YEAR-OLD SCIENCE AND ANCIENT HISTORY: Claims that raw milk is unsafe are based on 40-year-old science and century-old experiences from distillery dairy "factory farms" in rapidly urbanizing nineteenth century America. "

  • The fact that raw milk is illegal in many states, while it is legal to feed your kids fast food three meals a day is just preposterous.

We were raised on raw milk, and shared our cow with 3-4 other families. NO ONE ever got sick. There are no problems with raw milk; the problems are with poor sanitation and sloppy animal management.

If I am allowed to walk into a store and buy Mountain Dew, Twinkies, and Crisco without any problems, but I can't legally buy raw milk, there is a problem.....

My farmer is 10 minutes away and he is open 24 hours for Raw Milk! It's truly an honor to have my farmer!
  • I’m a raw milk farmer and drinker! Our milk is milked into a closed stainless steel bucket and filtered then cooled . The bucket is washed with hot water and detergent! Our cows are fed alfalfa and grass and corn! Best milk ever!

It makes no sense that I can go to any restaurant and order raw meats like raw sushi, oysters on the half shell, and rare steak but raw milk is illegal.

Have you ever heard of a dairy farmer dying from drinking raw milk? I worked on a lot of dairy farms when I was younger. I drank raw milk, the farmers drank raw milk and so did their extremely healthy kids. Years later I raised half a dozen dairy goats and as you can guess me and my family drank a lot of raw milk. We're all still here no worse for the experience. I love raw milk!!

I haven't been able to drink milk for almost 20 years, it would bloat my stomach and make me extremely gassy and constipated. I tried organic grass fed pasteurized milk and still same issues. I finally tried raw milk and no issues, not only that it was delicious.

    Thanks for spreading the truth.
    Cows should never eat corn.
    Grass is their natural diet.

Our family grew up drinking raw milk. My mother milked 2 cows twice a day, every day. That's all we drank other than water. Not one of our family, including my 6 brothers and sisters ever got sick from it. I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't know what REAL milk tastes  like.

My husband and I started drinking raw milk a year ago. I've been off of pasteurized dairy for 3 decades because of congestion caused by the processed milk. The raw milk doesn't give me any problems. Also, it makes wonderful yogurt and if it is set out at room temperature, it becomes delicious buttermilk. Raw milk is wonderful.

Yes- Monsanto is definitely ruining our food supply.

If there is any law, just make a law that it must be dated and labeled, and let people take whatever risks they want.

The fact that raw milk is ''illegal'' (Canada)  is ridiculous. It should be consumers choice, like fat burgers and candy. It should be up to me to decide what I can purchase and where. I for one, would LOVE to get my hands on raw milk ( the only one that doesn't make me sick), but whenever I approached a dairy farmer, I would get refused. Even small farmers are too scared to sell privately, in case they get shut down. It's an awful situation, it really is.

I'm always outraged when I'm told by some self-proclaimed "authority" that I'm not allowed to eat a certain food. Who do they think they are telling people what then can and can't put into their own bodies! The nerve! I'll eat and drink whatever I damn please. At 70 years of age, I think I may know a bit about what's good for me and what isn't.
  • When my friends visit me from Italy (I'm in England) they complain the milk here gives them stomach aches, they get bad skin and colds. When they get back to Italy and on their usual diet of red meat and raw milk, their skin cleans up and health improves. I drank raw milk in Greece and Italy and I would say my health and digestion improved. 👍
  • *Here is some irony: it is illegal to sell raw milk in Canada and the US but not raw milk cheese  made frow this same raw milk? Is this a contradiction or what? I think this raw milk ban is more about money and business than caring about the publics health.*
  • @paulindre4858
If you have a dog put 2 bowls of milk out 1 raw and untreated the second treated milk from a supermarket. My dog will not touch the treated milk but goes crazy for the untreated. What can I say?
  • @milarest2578
Thank you for this amazing educational video. What a greedy, sick world we live in. As the cows, we're just a number, and corporations are not concerned about our health. I drink raw milk, and it tastes so good.
