The earliest lists of Seven Wonders of the Ancient World were made more than 2,000 years ago by ancient Hellenic tourists. Except for the Great Pyramid of Giza those wonders no longer exist. They were destroyed by earthquakes, fires and in one case by an angry mob. Many other lists of amazing structures have been made since then. Here’s a look at our list of the greatest man-made wonders of the world:

  • 29:59 For those who are interested in the topic of polygonal masonry. A number of methods for obtaining the polygonal masonry are proposed. The basis of the proposed methods is the use of clay/gypsum replicas, a topography translator, and reduced clay models of the stone blocks along with a 3D-pantograph. The results are presented in the article: “Fabrication methods of the polygonal masonry of large tightly-fitted stone blocks with curved surface interfaces in megalithic structures of Peru”. Seen a few of these. For me Angkor Wat is the most spectacular. Just felt like I was transported back in time. So authentic, magical and quaint.

I love Angkor Wat and the philosophy behind it. The temple was originally built to honor Hindu’s Gods, but then converted to serve Buddhism. However, only new statues of Buddhas were added, almost no symbols of the other region were removed. That is harmony and sympathy.
