I'm not a "waiting until marriage" person, but I am a "waited for the right one." person. I waited and went through 4 relationships until I got with my current boyfriend who I was comfortable sharing that with.

I waited until marriage, not because of my religion but because I really wanted to make sure I found the one I’m spending my life with before giving away the goods. As a kid I saw how often sex can ruin and complicate relationships and as someone with terrible social anxiety, that’s is something I really wanted to avoid.

So I am newly Christian and I’ve already had three children but I am dating and every time they hear me say I’m waiting for marriage. They get very upset or laugh at me.

I wanted to but got peer pressured and even though i’m in a two year relationship with someone else and I wouldn’t trade the love we share I do still feel I wish I would’ve waited and cared more about what I wanted than what they wanted. If you want to wait then wait don’t let anyone take that from you!
