Imagine if a 79 year old John Lennon was alive to sing this right now
  • The switch from John to Paul is like going from a slow motion walk on a rainbow in space to a jolly walk in the park on a sunny day.

This song is one of the few things that reminds me that we humans don't completely suck.

A Day In The Life .... One of Ringo's best performances
  • John's vocals are so haunting on this, absolutely hair raising...this is the greatest song ever written.
  • “Starr is vastly underrated. The drum fills on the song “A Day in the Life” are very complex things. You could take a great drummer today and say, ‘I want it like that.’ He wouldn’t know what to do.” – Phil Collins
  • I never realised how good the drumming is on this track. Ringo suited The Beatles down to the ground.

Fun fact: that last piano chord at the end of the song is what inspired the MacBook startup sound. Steve Jobs was a huge fan of The Beatles.
  • Honestly guys, there are some songs that shouldn't have a dislike button.

After all these years i still get goose bumps when john’s voice comes in at the beginning. There is talent and then there is genius

As a young lad, I always was so impressed by the album cover. My parents played it all the Time. The cover is now worn, the record is grey and especially around this track... I'm 55 Years old. This song changed my listening experience. Samples and background noises, the Beatles were so brilliant. It set a template for songs like Bohemian Rapsodey and many other Grandeur songs. Still gives me shivers when I listen to it..

This song will still be played 10,000 yrs from now…trust me!!!

A mini movie of modern day reality. John's chillingly alienated vocal and the ending, pounding piano chord say it all. The Beatles masterpiece.
  • This song was declared the #1 song in rock history by "The History of Rock and Roll" which was a syndicated production that was many hours long and aired over thousands of radio stations all over the English speaking world. I was a teenager then and listened to that entire production religiously. This song was far ahead of its time and its complexity makes a mockery of what passes for music these days. In my opinion it is still probably one of the ten best rock songs ever recorded and putting it in the context of the technology available back then compared to what is now available this song may well be still the best and most important song recorded in the history of rock and roll.
