There’s no cat quite like the New York City bodega cat—killer of rats, fixture of the detergent aisle, silent observer of the human condition. If only these cats could talk. Well, now they can. In this episode, Oliver talks about the luxuries of bodega life, and how one Upper West Side lady saved him from the streets of Yonkers. The owner's accents always seem to fit the cats perfectly.

Mary Zingone Vinci, July 10, 1963 - May 17, 2022. Rest in peace Mary. You will always be remembered and loved. I'm smiling through tears at this sweet video you wrote and narrated.

  • Yay Oliver!!!  And yay Mary!!!  I love Zingone's, the family and other people that run the store and, of course, OLIVER!!  After a tough day in the asphalt jungle, it's so nice to stop by, pick up a few items for dinner, and say hi to Oliver and the good folks at Zingone's.  Great video :)

  • the city says that cats living in stores is illegal, but many shoppers will only shop in food stores that have a cat, so they know there hasn't been mice and rats walking on the food!
