Game Theory just released a video on Indigo Park: Chapter 1. I decided to do a reaction to it as the game's creator and project lead. While I can't give up all of the lore, it's super special to me that Tom covered the game.

Indigo Park is an immersive first-person exploration game that takes you on a thrilling journey through the eerie remnants of an abandoned amusement park. As the protagonist, you will step into the shoes of an adventurous soul eager to uncover the mysteries hidden within this once vibrant and lively attraction.

Explore a desolate world where time has stood still, and nature has reclaimed its territory. The amusement park, once filled with joyous laughter and cheerful music, now echoes with haunting silence and faded memories. Guided by an A.I. assistant*, help restore power to the destroyed amusement park while you avoid the reason it shut down.

Once one of the most renowned theme parks of the world, Indigo Park was suddenly shut down after a mysterious, horrific incident. Years later, in a search for nostalgia, you break into the park to explore the abandoned attractions. You may remember this place, but you'll need some help from a special A.I. friend*.

Previously the park's A.I.-driven* tour guide, Rambley the Raccoon will take over screens and other aspects of the park to communicate with you! Explore the park as you find collectables, secrets, and discover why the park was shut down, all while being guided by Rambley! Find items, solve puzzles, and restore power to the park as you run from the reason it shut down.

*Rambley, the AI character is a work of fiction, and is not utilizing actual "AI", rather stunning 2D animation and voice acting to communicate with the player.

Coming soon!

"Only Game Theory could take a game about an abandoned theme park and go "Oh! The British!"" is a quote that is going to live rent free in my head for weeks.
  • @BenieTheDragon
At least the dev isn't like the one from Hello Neighbor that begged MatPat for theories. He has my respect there.

“Only GameTheroy. Can play a game about an abandoned theme park. And go oh the British” -Unique Geese 2024
  • This feels like where the DM listens to players as they make theories. And checks their notes to see how close they are. But also, congrats on getting a theory on your game!

I find it hilarious how Game theory completely missed that Lloyd was actually the ORIGINAL big mascot for the park. With him being painted in the gate instead of Rambley in the old Isaac video, with the Rambley ride most probably initially being Lloyd ride and with statue of Lloyd being behind the stage in the theater - the same type of statue that is now Rambley and Isaac at the gate. Lloyd was most probably replaced by Rambley at some point (even "he hurts Lloyd" could be attributed to that). Rambley is actually the "Donald Duck" here.

I knew he'd react to the claim that Rambley is evil! Tom isn't even the only one who has that same idea.
  • I think one of the many things that indigo park devs got right when making the game is how well the story is distributed. no matter if game theory is correct on it the lore or not, most of the recent indie horror games, such as Poppy playtime, have executed the way they only hinted at certain parts of the story allowing the player to come up with their own theories of what might’ve happened in the story, makes indigo park an actually good game, because of how well the lore and story of what happened to the park is nicely timed and not revealing too much all at once, not allowing the player to automatically know what’s going on in the story- Props to you guys on that! ^^

Dang that placeholder for the interaction where he would yap about stuff got me laughing up like "yo thassa egg man idk what to tell ya" 😂
  • @limehuzki
My theory: the macaw animatronic says "that's not rambley, he hurts Loyd, he hurts Loyd" Rambley got a costume and a mascot..... He isn't in control of this mutant raccoon. One that looks like him but is much much more dangerous than the ai assistant

4:01 Its good to be humble but you need to accept the compliments and be proud, for a first proyect its amazing.
  • @Jamraz.
If in the end the player has to kill or destroy Rambly I'll literally cry. extra DTFU (damn that's f*cked up) points if he frantically pleads for his life or something as he is being/about to be destroyed. still will be sad in the end if that happens because I love that cute raccoon. The part where Rambly goes into the monologue after killing Molly is really good.
  • Rambley is soooo cute and so great to have as a companion. I'd actually be sad if he ended up being evil, just because it's something new in the genre and he seems like a great character who's genuinely concerned and compassionate.
  • I noticed that for most of the collectibles it's "Oh, I remember this, MY mom this and that" But for the Poodle plush it's second person "It doesn't look like any character YOU've seen in the parks." I also found it interesting, that the theory didn't comment on the Rambleberry magically materializing out of the arcade machine
  • @Brorca
Hear me out: Rambley is secretly evil, but not intensionally. He genuinely wants to help and restore the park, but he has no concept of the bad that could occur due to the restoration, nor how much pain the mascots were in.
  • @henry605
14:49 maybe add a button that sorta pops out but fits in that’s like “hear Rambley’s opinion on this item”
  • Please god if Rambley is evil I will cry so hard like I genuinely love him so SO much I don't think I can handle that kinda betrayal man-- like I'd just die lmao
  • @EnderFox227
I love how geese casually denies things he said on stream responding to chat messages "He has the mind of a 3 year old" and he isnt the villian
  • @maxdenor1459
"there's stuff that people haven't found" that line only is gonna bring 3x times more theories and gamers that wanna find every detail
  • My game theory is that there are multiple murderous mascots of the same character running around. Proof: that absolute nonsense at the beginning of the Molly chase sequence where she teleports in front of you and goes "nothing personal, kid"
