The subway guy made a mistake. You said 6 inch (15cm), but because germans are not familiar with the imperial system he made a 12 inch (30cm). But they gave you the upgrade for free, cause it was their mistake.

Damn bro, I’m German and it is so nice how you try to speak German even if you have problems with it. You can clearly notice how you get better with it every time you speak. ✌🏻

Sag einfach nur " was geht ab Leute" lass das "meine" weg xD

You're really good at remembering words and phrases and using them correctly, which is awesome. But what I recommend is a formal introduction to the German language if you want to become fluent or near fluent. Your grammar is pretty much all over the place and so is your sentence structure. :) But you are doing really well for someone who hasn't been to a proper German language course. The most important part is getting by, and that part you are nailing. :) However, if you want to stay in Germany long-term, you should really look into German grammar, which is much more complicated, much more irregular, and much more precise than English grammar.

In a Subway you can truly learn the cultural differences between Germany and the US. - In Hannover, Germany I go in, they ask what I would like and I tell them, if I have a question I ask, they answer. I get my Sub. - In Florida, they yelled 14 questions in my face while another staff member yelled 14 slightly different questions in the face of the guy next to me. I was so intimidated. I left hungry.
