ā¤šThank you as always, Laurie. Youāre the best! I have almost ALL but the Nomad Lane tote, of these bags and my favorite is the Tumi backpack. Iāve had it for over a decade. But I may get the Nomad Lane tote soon. I just prefer carrying weight on my back - not my shoulder.

A Day Owl backpack is one of the best things I've ever bought. It was ridiculously expensive to buy from outside US but I've used it for work and travel for 3 years and it looks new

Thanks for all your great recommendations! I bought the Lovevook backpack in black to take on my recent trip to Jamaica. It fit perfectly under the seat in front of me. I did as you suggested and did not over stuff it. I also bought a Samsonite, hard exterior carry on with great wheels which fit nicely in the overhead compartment. Your opinions and suggestions were greatly appreciated. āļøāļøšļø

I prefer my underseater or my packable backpack for my personal item. It fits a lot. I don't like duffle bags for a personal item. It gets heavy to carry. So I will only use a duffle for a road trip, where I don't have to carry it far.

That Tumi backpack is really nice but itās basically a clone of my Amazon backpack - similar to your striped one but all navy and gold hardware. It does have only that one zipper around the outside pocket but it has two other front outside pockets (or back? Since itās a backpack) so not really a problem. Also a secret passport pocket on the other side. I love it.

The Foldie is a great option for people who travel carry-on only to the destination and check 1 bag on the return flight. I did this last year when I went to Italy because I knew I would be bringing extra stuff home.
