Making a St. Brigid’s Cross - an Easy Step by Step Guide

Published 2020-01-24
Here is a little video of me demonstrating how to make a St. Brigid’s Cross which was filmed on the kitchen table this morning. I have been making them for the past 40 years and never tire of gathering the rushes and making them on the 31st of January, the Eve of St. Brigid’s Day. Here is a technique I developed in schools over the years using a clock as a guide for children. This works for everyone to be honest, young or old and all you need are some fresh green rushes.

Enjoy this and I’ll share some more videos in a while demonstrating different styles and designs from around the country. Please LIKE this page to see more.
