Reaction is pouring in after the Holy Father granted a rare sit-down interview to the US television program '60 Minutes'. In it, Pope Francis discussed immigration and Church teaching on same-sex relationships. In the exclusive interview with Norah O'Donnell, the Holy Father also weighed in on his critics and more. Vice President and Editorial Director for EWTN News, Dr. Matthew Bunson, joins to share how unusual it is for a sitting pope to be interviewed on American television and what he makes of the timing of this interview. Dr. Bunson discusses what Pope Francis said and whether anything jumped out at him about his comments on immigration or the need for peace in the world. Dr. Bunson tells us about the translation used by CBS News.

with the age of terrorism immigration needs to be looked at differently than years past

Oh yes, 60 Minutes, that bastion of integrity.

Raymond Arroyo would have asked about the Latin Mass restriction and its effect.
  • Praise the Lord God our Father. Lord show us your mercy and heal our ailments. Protect us against Corona Virus Pandemic. For our family and near and dear ones. For our spiritual and temporal wants. For the Pope bishops priests religious and all Catholics of the world. Thanksgiving for favours received. Thank you Jesus thank you Holy Father
  • A great pope and a future saint, along with Pope John Paul II the Great, Pope Benedict XVI and Pope John XXIII. Sadly a lot of EWTN viewers are cafeteria Catholics who pick and choose which popes they like and which teachings they like of the popes they like (many ignore John Paul's teachings on capital punishment for example), but for the true faithful Catholic, this interview was invigorating and assuring and illustrates the Holy Spirit's breadth in choosing successors of St. Peter, from the inspirational John Paul, to the erudite Benedict to the pastoral and fatherly Francis. Dr. Bunson was fair and accurate in his account and analysis of the interview.
  • Why the rush? They spun him for 60. Can’t News Nightly give him 6? Or are Arroyo and his squad the only ones aloud to comment on the Pope for the edification of the Faithful?

If he still has a conscience, he will think about what he has done for the rest of his life. Imagine reversing the motu proprio of your predecessor while he was still alive. SSPX must have felt vindicated by Pope Francis. He has strengthened them as a result.
  • This is a super PR for him.. it's a way to seek political sympathy through others than controled Catholics. Doesn't he know that this is another stab in how our faith not to be tempted by urging popularly to gain approval for errors that have no affect to other beliefs but ours.

Jesus Christ`s opinion of Satan: "You belong to your father the devil and you willingly carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in truth, because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks in character, because he is a liar and the father of lies." (John, 8:44 in the Catholic Bible) A description of the Antichrist in the Bible: "Let no one deceive you in any way. For unless the apostasy comes first and the lawless one is revealed, the one doomed to perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god and object of worship, so as to seat himself in the temple of God, claiming that he is a god — do you not recall that while I was still with you I told you these things? And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. But the one who restrains is to do so only for the present, until he is removed from the scene. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord [Jesus] will kill with the breath of his mouth and render powerless by the manifestation of his coming, the one whose coming springs from the power of Satan in every mighty deed and in signs and wonders that lie, and in every wicked deceit for those who are perishing because they have not accepted the love of truth so that they may be saved." (2 Thessalonians, 2:3-10 in the Catholic Bible)

So many kinds of love in this world and so many barriers to it.

“Holy” Father? His comments about conservatives were shocking. We don’t need a new blessing for couples. We’ve had confession. He is a chastisement.
  • @PantheraOnca60
The Holy Father's detractors are losing their minds, trying to warp his statements about not ordaining women and not blessing same-sex unions. Repent and believe in the Gospel, pope-bashers.

Do you think you will go to heaven following a bad pope ? The bad Sheppard takes his sheep 🐑 with him says Christ to the stigmatist Catalina Rivas, Great Crusade of Love ❤️.
  • @ceuser3555
I hope the next pope reverses all that he has changed.
